1244E529-7CB1-49C5-A626-EA45E20EE801.png im thinking of making a bracelet that is an open bangle with bezelled diamonds at both ends.

I’m torn between 5mm stones or 5.5mm ones. Both pair would be ideal cut and g-h in color. The price difference is about 1k. Not a lot in diamond world, but would mean setting some of my loose colored stones. But I do want the bracelet to be bling and worried that 5mm would be impactful enough.

How visible is the difference between 5 and 5.5mm for a bracelet?

Anyone happen to have side by side pics of a 5mm vs a 5.5mm?

Aren't the diamonds in that bracelet 3mm? So 5mm would be exponentially bigger ... that said, my wrist is 6.8" around so, me, I'd pop for 5.5mm but for anyone with 6" wrists or smaller, I'd think 5mm would be plenty blingy seeing as there are *two* of them.

MTG, sweet design for a bracelet, love the extra slim bangle and the way the bracelet fits close to the wrist, can't wait to see your finished project!

And this is a great graphic comparing mm sizes (I keep this on my laptop desktop)Round Stones in MM Sizes, size 7 ring finger.JPG :

Just make sure the bangle is thick enough that if the end catching on something (purse handle, yarn, sweater), the entire bangle cannot bend. That bangle looks to thin to withstand those kinds of abuses (which would all happen to me!).

Good points!
I will definitely want a thicker bangle! Which probably means bigger stones. I think the stones in the picture are too small.

Also that picture of the hand and mm stones makes me think a 10mm stone would look pretty good...

^ LOL!

Yeah, I agree the wider the bangle width, the larger the diamonds, but maybe you could also double-bezel the stones? Do they have to be diamonds? Or, do one diamond and the other a gold ball (to be replaced with matching diamond in the future)?

FWIW, I love these 2-stone narrow cuff style bangles ... but I tried one on and it just didn't look right to me on my wrist, though maybe I didn't have the right proportions for my wrist size. Anyway, if you haven't already, maybe find something similar in a local store so you can make sure the style works for you?

I got to try some cz ones on and quite liked the style. Though they had colored cz that looked fairly constume.

Haha. Doing one diamond and one colored stone I think would just aggravate my sense of symmetry and I feel like the colored stone would need to be bigger so it could “compete” with the diamond..

Measure my wrist. It’s about 5.75inched. Hmmm

I think either size would look really great. It also depends on how thick you want the bezel, It's amazing how the size of the bezel can really impact how large the diamonds look. Have you thought about drawing it out on paper and taping to your wrist to see what size you like? I have done that before and the sketches help lol....you could even find a bangle photo like the one you posted and then print it so it's life sized....just by adjusting the percentage of the printed size when you go to print...I have actually done that a few times to decide on sizes of stones etc
