I've been lurking a lot lately, but I happened upon your post today and I have seen this diamond in person. In fact, I'm almost certain I have a few photos. Im almost certain I have photos of it alongside an L colored diamond as well as another u-v. As soon as I post this I will look and see if I can find the photos.
The rings you looked at the were w-x, y-z were those y chance radiant cuts? If so, I do think those cuts tend to show color better. I think that an OEC shows less color than a radiant of the same color, if that makes sense at all. I'm no expert, it is just my general observation. The diamond is lovely, the faceting is gorgeous, but I don't think that it will look anything like a fancy light yellow. Its a very warm diamond, but still faces up creamy and not really yellow. I think it's a fabulous diamond for someone who wants a creamy antique looking diamond. If you want a FLY I'm not sure this is the right diamond, but color is totally subjective. Though, I looked at a TON of FLY diamonds and the w-x, y-z colored diamonds when my son was looking for an engagement ring this past Christmas.
I must say I love GOG and they certainly take fabulous comparison videos, which is of great help when you aren't able to see the diamonds in person. Has he made a video for you with this diamond next to a FLY
Found the photo. Starting from the bottom up: 8.88 MRB color O, 5 carat OEC color UV (this is the one you are looking at), and the one at the top is either my 4.46 OMB color L or an August Vintage Cushion in I'm not sure what color. Jonathan commented on how similar my cut was to his AVC, however I really do believe this one is his.
