on glass.jpg dark background.jpg GIA.jpg Good afternoon all - I am not sure if this is the correct area to post this, so mod if there is a better spot for this please move my thread accordingly. I wondering where is the most appropriate place to inquire what a particular stone might be worth, and get an idea of where to market it. Thanks in advance.

I would look at liebish website and maybe contact them.

Thanks for the information. I will contact them now..

The GIA report is really old.....is this being offered by a private individual or a store?

You need to talk to an independent appraiser (someone who does not buy/sell stones). Tell them you are looking to see it and whats the best way to
go about it. Tell them your priorities (money or fast sell) etc.

Not sure what state you're in but this should help you find one.

Sorry- I missed the intent of the original post!
I'd try to find comps on the web.
In general, individuals selling a ring like this will need to sell for substantially less than established sellers ( stores or sites). But if you can sell privately, you'll get more than if you need to sell to the trade.

Best of luck!

Private seller - me - and yes the report is old - but i don't remember seeing an expiration date on this.. I have no issues getting a new one - but the reports on all three stones were close to 1k with the laser work when i ordered it . Here is the complete report on all three stones - any and all help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance - once again.

So can you please give me an actual value of what this might be worth wholesale, as well as - retail directly to a private party? I have this in my possession and i am interested in selling it. I have no issue with paying a commission, or finder's fee to whomever can help get this done.

You can look on sites like Leibish to get a rough idea of retail comps for your center stone.

There are consignment sites that sell jewelry. One with reasonable fees is Love Affair Diamonds.

I have contacted both of them, (for some reason they were both closed today?) - thank you for the advice - no information as of yet, I am interested in any and all avenues, and i certainly appreciate all the help..

Does anyone know if there are other online forums similar to PS - that might be geared more towards selling something of this nature?

I can’t make any sort of definite guess on what you might be able to get.
In general I’d say that consumers selling back into the trade will get about 1/2 of what internet sellers are offering similar stones for. Selling privately should yield about 75% of internet prices.
I’m sure other non trade members can suggest sites where people trade privately- like eBay.
Goof luck!

There is the preloved forum here, but you would have to link to an outside site, such as loupe troop or diamond bistro first.

The thing you first need is to get an independent appraisal for resale purposes. (Not for insurance)

Nobody is going to pay retail on a preloved ring, especially from a non-retail seller. And most aren't going to pay a price that is based on a years-old lab report - even if you get comps from a legit colored diamond retailer like Leibish or Diamonds by Lauren, because you're not a retailer AND you're selling used.

So get it appraised AND get comps and then price it at perhaps 60-75% of the average comp/appraisal number. See if you get any interest. If not, reevaluate your pricing.

You could try consigning, like mentioned above with love affair diamonds or jewels by grace. They'd bring a bigger audience for you and people feel more comfortable sending big money to established vendors more than some random guy. Plus, you, selling as the random guy, would have more risk (and less recourse) should the buyer turn out to be a scammer.

Good luck to you. It's a very pretty ring!
