Hello everyone,

I've narrowed my search to the following 3 diamonds. Looking for 1.6-1.8ct, and after much research, hard to decide between the 3. Any thoughts? Would medium fluoro and the slightly not as optimal angles in option 2 and 3 be putting off enough to go with option 1?

I've attached pictures. Option 1 and 3 have the heart/arrows, option 2 only has the diamond picture. Option 3 also has the ASET.

All are round, G, VS1, super ideal cut and all with excellent polish/symmetry. All are GIA certified.

Is 3 a SuperIdeal?

It looks to have leakage in a couple of areas under the table, which would indicate that the cutting is not very consistent around the pavilion.

Well none of them are officially super ideal, though honestly I'm not quite sure what that means anyway. I just see their measurements of depth/table w/ crown/pavilion angles and from what I've been reading, those numbers are around as ideal as it gets I believe.

It has to do with the cut, I would completely disregard 2 and 3 from your choices

These top 3 are considered a branded cut
This would be my pick

Interesting. I've been doing some heavy looks at that HP site you mentioned and wow, they are incredible and not insanely priced. I'm really leaning towards them now.

Glad to hear that you liked them! Let us know which diamonds you like

Buying branded stones means you have guaranteed light performance, so you don't have to worry about ASET or angles - just pick the colour / size / price you prefer!

You pay a premium because better cutting = more time to do it = increased money spent on wages per diamond, and because often the rough diamond is priced at a level reflecting the steep/deep end product many (most?) cutters bidding for it would cut in order to maximise weight retention and therefore retail price/profits, rather than the smaller end product you get from a rough crystal if cutting for performance and beauty.

You also get good Trade-in / Buy-back policies from the PriceScope reommended vendors of 'superideals', which is good to have.

I believe all the PS-recommended vendors allow you to purchase, inspect at home then decide on whether to keep it. It could be good to order one you ilke, so you can know how well a good diamond can perform!, and so you can take it in to local shops to compare to their stock if you're considering buying locally. I would place money on the SuperIdeals outperforming local stock ;-)

Congratulations! I think you will love it :)
