3 prong basket setting for studs?

but what I am hearing is that the prongs need to be lower, closer to the girdle and further from the table? Would that correct the "too much metal" look that I don't like when looking in the mirror (side view of earring, I guess)? So is it that the prongs need to be moved, or what? If I ask for them to be shaved down, will that make sense?

not trying to me a jerk, but don’t say any of this to them. You don’t know enough to micromanage how they solve the issue with directions about what you want them to do, and what you have written here is nonsense that could cause them to ruin your earrings.

If you want them to look different bring a picture of prongs that look how you want these to look and say “can you make my earrings look more like this? I don’t like how I see metal protruding up above the diamond from and angle [and show what you mean]”. Then see what they say about how they can or cannot fix it. But don’t try to do their job for them with instructions. That never turns out right.

I definitely don't know enough. In fact, this forum terrifies me, lol!! But it's been a helpful education and I like learning.

However, you indicated above that you think they are fine as is. And, I do like the look of them when I see them from the front, not the side. Hm. Not sure I should say anything!

Honestly, you have 8 prongs. Some metal will show from the side. But does that really matter? You don't look at them from the side, and your photos are enlarged so in real life, the metal would not be as prominent. Why not just live with them for awhile. If they really bother you after several months, then think about getting the 3 prong martinis with the rounded bottom (not the pointed one) or some sort of 4 prong style. But I do think you are over analyzing them. They look beautiful in the photos of you wearing them.
