Whats the concern so I can let jeweler know?

3.8 they want 9700
3.76 they want 8500

But sounds like not good stones?

The proportions and angles are far from actually being ideal, so they will suffer with optical precision and performance. These seems to be a bit of sloppy cutting for both, as well.

Please compare to these:

...ask for video and/or ASET, as this one has great potential for spectacular optics with the 40.8/35.5/55 paired with 80 lowers and 45 stars, that's an indicator of a caring cutter. That crown height!

Nice finds, DejaWiz! That 4.20 especially is awesome.

KingsDude do you have an alternate link to the video?
This one isn't loading for me on either my phone or my laptop.

Very odd. Worked right when I got it but clearly not anymore. Will try again tomorrow - they're closed.

I'm not stuck on size but curious why that 4.01 is priced so much higher than the 4.20 when the 4.01 is an SI1.

But in Deja and Kim, I trust!

The 4.01 is GIA graded. :)

How big are you looking to go, KingsDude? If your budget is $9700, I see stones as big as 4.5.

3.8 to 4.5?

I think this one has blue nuance (I'm on my phone and it's harder to tell), but if by some chance it's just the lighting and it doesn't have it, it's HPHT E color with terrific proportions.

Wow so many options.

4.8 is too big.

This diamond will never be sold so need to take that into account.

I'm not sure anyone we know will be able to tell the difference between a GIA E and an IGI F or G.

If these were for you @DejaWiz @kim, which one would you guys go with?

If I can save 2k and get a similar quality diamond, then that's the preference (obviously).

Help me choose :D

The 4.20 that DejaWiz posted! Awesome proportions, tight cutting, great price for the size.

Jeweller I know, who is probably upset I'm not buying through him, is trying to disparage the stone (and ritani lol) by saying there's shadow at these locations and it'll effect the brilliance.

Photography environment...this is an extremely well cut diamond and will have quite a lot more brilliance then either of the two that he is offering, in my humble opinion.

I agree!

If you can get an ASET, then it'll be good for confirmation of what we see in the video.

We've seen a lot of local jewelers disparage online diamonds, often without just cause.

Check these ones out @DejaWiz and @Kim N.

All GIA
ALL CVD
All Hearts and Arrows

Probably a lot more expensive?

Care to see any of these or get pricing on them???

Example of price. The FVS2 in upper left is $9050

Get a closer look (and ASET, if you can) for the following three:

And maybe for this one, but the proportions aren't to my personal taste:

Waiitng for some pics / videos / ASET but here are some prices.

4.80 11,808
4.02 7,600
4.42 14,500
4.11 9,050

How are you feeling about those compared to the 4.20 (10.28mm) F VS1 with the 40.6/35.3/56 combo and H&A designation for $7375 - 3% coupon code = $7154 at Ritani?

If it were my wallet (and it isn't), then I'd buy my own ASET scope kit over at datlas.com:

...and get the Ritani diamond ordered ASAP right after the ASET order goes through.
30 days to assess it before the return window closes: view it in various lighting conditions, various environments, and be able to compare it side by side with the GIA diamonds (and any others at alternate jewelry stores, if desired).
May the best one win!
...That would be my advice.
Is there a diamond from the GIA lot that has captured your eyes and attention?
