$3.2 million pink diamond recut

Can you imaging having that responsibility  ?

It's a beautiful stone.

I wouldn't have said no to the 'before' either. I'm a bit cheap

Great story. I wonder why they use the "wheel" instead of lasers. I would think that a computer controlled laser would be more precise than a human manually polishing on a surface.

Now that deserves the pinkalicious title if anything does.
Yummy.

Very good article! Love the final ring.

Intriguing play of colour in the rough & colour from the cut - to whom it might concern!

Fascinating.
Thanks for posting.

Here's another example of a similar brilliant yet high-risk recut decision.

"Shmulik Polnauer made the decision to re-polish one of the stones he won in this year’s tender. The stone was originally a 1.71-carat, Fancy Intense Purplish Pink, Radiant-shaped diamond. By re-cutting the stone, he managed, losing only three points, to significantly upgrade the color intensity. Now, Leibish & Co. is delighted to be the proud owners of the 1.68-carat, Fancy Vivid Purplish Pink, Radiant-shaped diamond."
