$25,000 budget over 2 carat - pls help!

Hello, ladies!

So my bf said the other day that we should start looking for a ring. Yeah!!! I don't know if that's a proposal, hope not. lol!

Anyhow, just wanted to get your opinion on where to start. I am in NYC so I can go to 47th St.... But I hear Bluenile, Costco, Whiteflash, James Allen are all good options as well.

I would like to get a stong over 2 carats (RB) around budget of $25,000. Is this possible? What type of combination would you recommend? I am thinking at this point that cut would still need to be pretty good. What's the best combo, you think?

FYI. I found below two stones on Bluenile and James Allen. Which one is better in your view???

this tool should help you weed anything out - you should consider anything that scores a 2 or < - BN isn't really a favorite here, but only because they can't provide IS images. You might check out Brian Gavin Diamonds, Good Old Gold (they're in NYC) and James Allen - GOG has IS images on their website, the others will provide them if asked (JA - 3 max)

I also allowed myself a budget of up to $25,000 when I was ring shopping for the gf (have not yet proposed....next step is figuring out the setting) and I would say go to your local jewelry district in NYC and do research on what criteria's are important.

It seems that 2 ct is most important but would you be willing to go down in Clarity or Color?

I found out that my gf wanted the ring to be big and I could go as low as a SI 1 and down to an I color which helped me with my budget.

I also recommend going to David S. Diamond in NY jewelry district. My cousins has done tons of business with him and I've bought a previous diamond from him as well.

Best of luck with your search and a 2ct + diamond will look real nice.

Great size and amazing cut - definitely under your budget.
