Can someone please share your opinion on this 1.72 H VS2 round diamond for $8800?

Also curious how close / far if this would be vs Tiffany standards.

it's borderline Si1 ~ tiffany probably wouldn't use it based on clarity alone...
bit deep @ 62.8 and PA 40.8 would be better @ 40.6
So if White Flash is an A / A+
TIff is A/A-
this stone might be a B or B+ for the price

Basic parameters are decent and it's a nice diamond, but facet precision is lacking. Not a hearts and arrows diamond due to missing arrow and inconsistent size hearts with large clefts. There is also some nonstandard cutting of some of the upper girdle facets visible in ASET.

Thank you Texas Leaguer!

"Tiffany standards"? ........ LOL
Tiffany does not have the best diamond cut standards.
Like GIA's highest cut grade of Excellent ....... There is better.

In one sense, Tiffany is like Steinway pianos.
There are better brands, in spite of successfully convincing the public they are the exclusive pinnacle of perfection.

In fact, I've heard that piano professionals have a saying ...
"Steinway makes the best piano MARKETING in the world".

I'd say the same for Tiffany's diamonds.
The pianos and diamonds are both overpriced, and they're both laughing all the way to the bank.

If your priority is for the world's most-widely recognized status symbol in diamond or pianos, stop shopping.
Put on your Tiffany ring, and play your Steinway piano.

But if your priority is for the best light performance in diamonds, or highest & most consistent quality in pianos, start your homework.

I have a round ACA, A Cut Above, diamond from Whiteflash, and it is a fireworks show!!!
Their cut standards, which is responsible for light performance (not color or clarity) is among the best possible.

The late Todd Gray did a scathing review of Tiffany diamonds and SAs. Worth reading, hope his website is still up.
