One day, while looking thru photos after photos of PSers posting their spinel, I just had a strong urge. This is it, I must own one. I began searching and searching and I couldn't find the perfect one. So I thot why not start something from its rough, so I'll get to choose the colour, the size and most importantly the cut. So I emailed Jeff and enquired about his spinel roughs. And he returned with this:

Such great insights! It's like he knows what the final colour of the stone will be like before cutting the rough. He even informed me that the red one will not be that red after cutting. More likely to be an intense pink stone. And he's right! By then, I'm in love with the one on the left which is about the size I would love to have. By the way, the pastel pink on the right would be an amazing Asscher.
After being added into the cutting schedule, I waited for 2 months. Yes, it's like you are physically in a queue. I know I'm being impatient, but the result, is worth the wait.

Jeff is really nice! I had a photo of my gem professionally taken, what more to ask for.
For comparison, you will get to see my lousy iPhone shot under daylight

There's some sort of orangey glow to it which I can't explain, making it kind of neon pink. And amazingly, there's no red to it at all! I know the stone gonna be good, therefore I've selected some well cut melee before the stone even reaches me.

And this is the design I had in mind...

I'm tempted to set the halo with these deep pink diamonds too

What do you guys think? Which is a better idea? I'll need to finalize soon as I couldn't wait any longer to see it on my finger!
Thanks for viewing!
