Hi all,

I have this ruby and diamond cluster ring that I've posted about before which is just not standing up to everyday wear and the diamonds aren't great, but myself and especially my husband have an emotional attachment to my ruby.
I've recently acquired 2 round brilliants, 0.95 and 0.96ct colour M and N and was thinking quite strongly that I wanted to do a 2 stone bypass with them and save my ruby for something else down the track.

But then slowly but surely we started talking about including the ruby and doing a 3 stone, which I've grown to love the idea of, but.....

I'm a little worried I don't have the finger space for it, my ring finger is 3.75 (H) for my fellow kiwi PSers!

Can anyone chime in and give me some good old PS help to encourage me that I can potentially pull off a fantastic 3 stone with my sentimental ruby. Can anyone show me or tell me about their experience of having skinny fingers but loving MAJOR coverage umm, thanks SOOOOOOOOO much PS :confused2:

I'll include a photo of my ruby ring in its current state just so you can visualise the size of the ruby on my hand.

I know I will be able to work this through with my jeweller at some point, but he's overseas at the moment and I just want to stop obsessing lol.

Given your petite finger size (me with the meaty 7.5) I would suggest a north/south ring, I’d turn the oval ruby east west and put a diamond above and below. Maybe with diamond set shoulders.

With your size fingers, I would use smaller size side stones. The stones you currently have may work/fit but I think they will overwhelm the ruby.

Thanks Bron357, I actually do like the north/south idea! It's almost dinner ring style in my thinking, but I need it to be reasonably substantial so I can wear it all the time and not baby it.
I had thought maybe a tiny border of similar coloured meelee around the ring to frame it?

These are already bought and I really love them so if I can't make a 3 stone work on my finger in some form, I'll decide at that point to continue with just using the 2 diamonds and save my ruby for something else down the track.

I wear a 4.25, and my 3-stone is 1 ct-2.5ct-1ct.
I love 3-stone rings.

Yes, I love this shape, always have and own 2 antique navette shape diamond rings like this, although just little versions.
Thank you for putting this up as a suggestion, it's nice to know you are thinking similarly to me in trying to include my ruby.
