Haha, I'm not into pink diamonds but while it was great I didn't get weak in the knees. For a mil, I need to get weak in the knees.

Of course, maybe I'm just weird. This morning I saw an email from BGD and got all excited about getting this pendant and matching earrings for the fiancee. Purple his her favorite color btw.

About $1,200 all in. Skirt blown up, lol. Good wedding gift?

it's pretty but looks like amethyst? i'd have a hard time spending that kind of money on amethyst/peridot/topaz jewelry (that could just be my prejudice tho). if purple is her favorite i'd also look at tanzanite or purple sapphire.

re the 1 mil diamond i've been following that guy on instagram for a little while and he seems to be having the best time in life. ha!

Good eyes. I'm not well versed in colored gemstones so before I pulled the trigger I'd post something. It just caught my eye as "pretty" and something I think she'd like.

They do have a tanzanite version, but looks to be blue only.

I'm with you. Where's the sparkle? And it appears to be a radiant with the faceting pattern, but the corners are rounded like a cushion.

I love that I'm being a snob about how someone else spend $1 million. Like I'd ever have that much to spend!

@sledge tanzanite is not an expensive stone either i just like it better =P amethyst can be special but most of it offered by larger jewelers is not imho. and all of these stones have their own variances of color and quality like diamonds so i'd try posting on the colored stones forum and see what options people can find for you

Same here regarding Amethyst/peridot/topaz jewelry, but I find that I like them much better when I source a nice precision cut stones myself and set them, rather than go for pre-made pieces. Stones in those always seem subpar in quality/cut while they still cost a pretty penny.

@sledge, while those designs are pretty, stones leave a lot to be desired. Amethyst can look really pretty when cut nicely and they usually are pretty affordable too and fairly easy to source. Could be another fun project for you

I follow him too and I agree, even more than the stones he posts, his "lifestyle" and attitude is what I find most amusing

or you can get purple spinels in a royal purple colour. An emerald cut purple spinel is on my wish list. Was hoping to get a 3 stone ring for my 40th birthday but it didn't happen because DF is unemployed at the moment so we are on my wage only

@sledge we paid $2,200 for this 18K, 30ct amethyst and turquoise beauty. We may have overpaid, but DW fell in love!! For some reason amethyst is dirt cheap right now, so do our homework!
