hello fellow PSers!

I thought I might bring to the PS table, a question I’ve been pondering for some time.

I have a pair of 1.1ctw BGD signature studs, which are lovely. They are a K colour though, so I can see the colour. This doesn’t bother me when they’re in my ears as I can’t see them lol... but does a little when I take them out and clean them.

Size-wise, I always thought they would were as large as I could go. They seemed almost too large for some time. Them of course... DSS set in. I am fine with going bigger now, though I am still quite content with their current size.

The problem (lol) is that I have a loose 0.80 BGD stone sitting around... waiting to be set :mrgreen2:. Should I upgrade one of my earring stones to make a 1.6ctw pair? The 0.8ct is a BGD blue and H colour so it eliminates my mild colour sensitivity issues!

The 0.55 stones measure about 5.2mm... and the 0.8 is around 6mm...

Is that enough of a size difference to be worth it? Or should I use the 0.8 stone for something else?

Yes for me 5 mm to 6 mm was a HUGE difference in visual appeal.

Oh, yes, that would be a big difference on an earlobe!

Done! :D
Sadly, BGD are lacking in inventory in the 0.8ct range... even in their signature line, let alone for the BGD blues!! I'll keep watching...

The other idea had been to use it as the center stone for a 3 stone pendant project. I'm all about the 3 stone style nowadays. Past, present and future and all that. Having said that, I'm less of a pendant girl. My studs get worn daily without fail! And I already have several other pendants in rotation.

Give Lesley a call and tell her what you want. She can check with Brian to see what’s in the pipeline =)2

Absolutely find a mate for it and make a pair of 1.6tcw studs!

I did a similar upgrade and the size difference was definitely noticeable and amazing! You could also take a look at what WF or HPD have available since they are also super ideal vendors so performance should be comparable.

I wouldn't go the pendant route since it seems you already have a few and said yourself your studs are your daily wear item!

Could you post the specs of your current BGD .80 stone?

WF has a few options but not sure what clarity or budget you have but I would want all the specs to be similar:

Remember that AGS 'Negligible' for fluorescence actually encompasses none and faint so it's possible for some of them to have

Thanks guys!
Given I already have a pair of BGD studs, i would prefer to upgrade the stone to save on costs. My BGD Blue is a H strong Fluor stone (which I’m
A big fan of!) so I may touch base with Lesley to see what is on the way.

One day, I’ll have a WF stone! I’m always admiring their inventory, but I think for the purposes of this project it’ll be a BGD Blue to match :)
