Hello Everyone,

My girlfriend is not a diamond connoisseur. Not even close.

I, however, pretend to be one (after lurking this site for some time).

That being said, I don't know if she will really notice and/or appreciate the difference between a 0.5ct and a 0.75ct RBC stone in the center of this setting (0.5CT --> http://www.skashi.com/ProductPop.aspx?style=EN7368-50WG / 0.75CT --> http://www.skashi.com/ProductPop.aspx?style=EN7368-75WG)

By the way, she has narrow hands with a ring size of 5.5. So would it make a HUGE difference between the two? What do you all think?

And finally, I thought this was a really good buy at this price, so I bought it impulsively. Now, I'm a bit scared, so I thought I would ask here - since they don't have an idealscope or ASET. What do you all think about this RBC:

0.5CT
I
VS2
0.7HCA
Cut: EX
Polish: VG
Sym: VG
$1120 USD

If anyone has suggestions, or recommendations of stones I could get from a similar price ($1500 would be my max for the stone), that would be amazing too.

Sorry for the long post. Any help would be really great. Thanks everyone.

Stone looks really good but i am NO Pro on choosing stones.

is the setting a done deal? I would worry about that snagging a LOT. See how the head that holds the stone is higher and separate from the shank (band) part of the ring? i am accident prone and could see that catching constantly on clothing, scarfs, purses, etc. An infinity that is integrated with the halo would be much more durable i think.

Hi Farrahlyn,

Thanks for the suggestions - however, I'm quite sure this setting is the one. She dragged me in to a jewellery store just to show it to me after all :D

I did think about the snagging because the head of the stone. But that is her favorite part - the raised head/halo. I am a bit concerned, but I'm just hoping it'll be fine.

I'm mostly just happy that you liked the diamond  Thanks for your input!

There is quite a big difference between a .5 and a .75 stone. Here is the size difference on a 5 1/2 finger. Thanks to the halo
on the setting you have picked you will get a lot more finger coverage. Is your GF the type who is more into the overall look
of the ring and less about the center stone? Really, only you know if the .5 is big enough which I think you have decided is.
I thought I would show you the difference just FYI.

I think you did well.

LOL! KUDOS to you for getting her exactly what she wants!

Thanks for posting that photo, Tyty333, it made it very clear to me. I think with the Halo it will be more than satisfactory :)

And thank you Lama1980!

I will post again once the ring is all made up and ready :)
