Sparrow, Wren, and Chickadee are growing very, very quickly! We've never had a litter this small in numbers or this GINORMOUS in size! Sparrow especially, bless his cotton socks, in nearly as wide as he is long. They are overflowing handfuls of wiggly, warm, kitten fluffballs.

Both Sparrow and Wren have opened their eyes, which is normal around 10ish days. Chickadee is the smallest and slowest, so her eyes are still closed. All are crawling around freely. I heard one of them SCREAMING from the laundry earlier today so raced in, only to find one of the kittens in the middle of the floor, lost and unable to get back to the nest area. I don't know why Turtledove didn't call to him to let him know where to go, or even go get him herself - she just looked up at me when I brought him back. I think she was testing me. Needless to say, I passed...though I'd appreciate no more tests in the future, my heart was racing at those kitten shrieks!

So many thoughts here, don't know where to start! Do all your mommies get nice push presents like that?! I'll volunteer to come give birth at your house :cheeky: As for testing you and letting her kittens howl, well all of us moms have had that time when we were just so plum tuckered out that we thought "maybe if I let them cry they'll go away..."

Is Turtledove tiny or are those kittens really as Ginormous as they appear? My lord, they'll be able to crush her in a few weeks...

Okay, random rant over. Man, they are SO adorable! Gorgeous colors of fluff!

Ginger you are such a saint :saint:

I believe you could make some money selling the photo of the cat with two heads to The Onion

Ya gotta do, whatcha gotta do, in order to get more bling.. ;))

Hey, and I could be wrong, but I *think* it would hurt a lot less to birth a kitten than to birth a baby

plus a shorter gestation period and less weight gain... hey, kittens are becoming VERY appealing all of a sudden!

(Sorry for the tangent, JG! we just love the push present so much, we want to get one of our own!!)

...and as for your "two-headed kitty" - are they like that a lot? If so, I know I'm jumping in a little soon here, as they're only 10 days old, but maybe they could go together to a new home... :praise:

It would be a small price to pay and totally worth it, especially since I think the gestation period for cats is significantly less than 9 months...off to Google that!!

ETA...Enerchi...we must have posted at the same time! Great minds, you know!!

     I am DYING. Absolutely gorgeous family, and those babies are HUGE. Thank you for sharing! :appl:
