Your Latest Jewelry Purchases/Things You're Considering....

Those are pretty, I love that style, but sadly I inherited my father's beefy lobes...not so dainty lol. I tend to reach for studs more than anything so I'm tempted to just do either bezel studs...or a hexagon or octagonal setting. :)

Oh an octagonal is a great idea!!! Especially since your ring has that design:)

So, I’m not exactly considering buying any of these but had a lot of fun spending time at Filigree Jewelers in Minneapolis. I considered the little target ring at the end with the Emerald cut, but decided against it as it was a reproduction and I need to focus on other wishlist items!

They have a large inventory of true antique and reproduction jewelry. They were extremely nice and patient! I had so much fun chatting with the guy who assisted us!

My favorite piece there was a vintage lozenge cut that naturally I forgot to take photos of. I also fell in love with that sapphire target ring and the OEC was just stunning. :D

Here are some photos - forgive the bad lighting! I was looking specifically at Art Deco - especially hexagon, octagon…and more ornate Edwardian styles.

She is indeed.

Sigh. Got some issues. Pushed back a week.

Sorry to hear Mrs-b. I read your posts with much enthusiasm. Always wonder if you miss your Emerald cut and may possibly look at buying another again down the road.

I can’t wait to see the finished ring. I’m sure there are many of us here looking forward to seeing it.

Oh my gosh, they are all beautiful! I would have found it almost impossible not to walk out with something LOL. I'm really liking the round in the yg octagon setting. Thank you for the eye candy!

Absolutely beautiful! The color of that paparadscha is delicious. Beautiful design and I love all the sparkle.

Thank you so much!

It was soooooo tempting!!!! I didn’t even get to their colored gem section!

Totally agree! I’m contemplating an octagon style setting and really loved that one!

The last one looks like Hoda’s (Today Show) engagement ring!

Fun! I like the one with the octagonal a baguette halo. Is that a fancy light yellow in the middle? I daydream of doing something like this (trying on lots of stuff in a store) but I am very shy about it.

So… I mayyyyyy be waiting for a little something to show up at my front door! I hate to get too excited because when you order things from the magic internet there’s just no telling what it will look like in real life… but I can’t wait to get it! 4.07 ct unheated grey spinel, 8.91 x 8.35.

That ring looks like my former baguette halo setting for Ashlee! My halo was made with high color baguettes though.

It's actually a RB, I think it was just a lower color so it is showing a bit more color. My friend loooooved that one. It was not a true vintage piece, but it was a really, really fun ring.

I was a bit nervous too, but honestly I think the sales associate was SO excited to chat with someone who knew anything about diamonds, we had a blast. We gabbed for ages! He showed me items that were extra special because he enjoyed chatting! So, my point is...don't be shy! If you are in Minnesota, I highly recommend them!

Oh my it was like the baby version! I did really love that one...it was a nice price too.

Oh whoops - I am just seeing that you might be talking about the emerald cut stone with the baguette halo...that was a fancy colored stone, I think it was yellow brown. They explained that it was actually a single earring (they converted the other one to E/W)...WOWZA! It was amazing. Very glitzy! The pair was sold actually, hence not snapping pics!

***EDITED:

I am dead wrong, LOL - it was not FLY but it showed so much color. I think they certify in house for some...I am surprised that it is a K. I mixed it up with my memory of this one which was FLY: https://www.filigreejewelers.com/product/2-carat-fancy-yellow-emerald-cut-engagement/

Man they are both to die for! And yes it does look like Ashlee before she was reset!

Very pretty!
did you have one coming in some months ago - if so how’d it turn out compared to listing pic?
or am I maybe thinking of someone else?

CSpan, the video on this is just amazing. I wish I could figure out how to post it!

Rfisher, I tried to buy one a while back but the vendor contacted me and said it had already been sold and they forgot to take the listing down. The same stone was also listed on ebay--for more money--and that listing stayed up for quite some time afterwards until it showed as sold. I thought about contacting the vendor and asking what was going on, but I was soured on it by all that so I just let it be. Hopefully this will be the one!

Will you share the vendors? Good spinel vendors are hard to come by. Someone tried to sell me one that wasn’t just bought by someone else but she had it in her possession! Luckily she was on Ps.

I like their IG account. The videos are cute. They seem like nice people too.

The vendor with the transaction that wasn't completed is https://www.etsy.com/shop/gemcollections2012?ref=yr_purchases&section_id=29333855.

And the vendor I bought the current stone from is https://www.etsy.com/shop/NishGemsStore?ref=yr_purchases.

To be fair, I haven't seen this new stone so I want to make sure this doesn't seem like any sort of "endorsement" at this point, but once the thing arrives I will circle back.

Despite the drama going on with the etsy seller that I am so ready to get behind, here she is!

She's beautiful. I hope you have a successful resolution of the duties - what a rotten turn of events, but perhaps the bling softens the blow a bit? Enjoy - so very pretty!
