This arrived today! Still on the fence though. She’s 2.5ct, Colombian, minor oil. 18K setting, nice and low. There’s a bit of a window that I think the setting was supposed to close, but I can still see a line down the middle back. Or maybe that’s how long emerald cuts look?

And forget about trying to capture the color.

Here she is with my only other emerald ring. The one in my band is slightly lighter and less glow-y.

This is gorgeous! I love everything about it--the color, the emerald size and shape, the glow, the setting...   This is pretty much my ideal emerald ring. Enjoy this beauty and post lots more pictures, please!

Thank you! I guess I keep obsessing over trade ideal color though I certainly can’t afford that in this size. This was a good compromise for size and color although the polish and symmetry of the emerald leaves something to be desired.

Maybe I’m just being too nit picky.

Hey everyone, so I found just did a little binge on etsy vintage and ordered 5 pieces and I think I will be keeping 2. Thankfully :geek2:
So, here's what I ordered...
1. platinum diamond eternity band...very beautiful but it just doesn't feel luxurious like my BGD ering, so it's going back.
20190910_174910.jpg
2. Platinum heart pendant...I really love this, might wear for my wedding. The diamonds are G and very sparkly I have a white gold chain that works but not sure if I can handle platinum pendant and white gold chain, what do you think? Go with white gold chain or buy a platinum chain? I am open for suggestions.
20190910_175055.jpg
3. Old mine cut diamond cluster with antique chain non removable. it's very pretty and sparkly but not sure yet. 20190910_175852.jpg
4. Gorgeous citrine ring white gold with diamond accents. It's super sparkly, comfortable and I love the hearts in the gallery! Definitely keeping. 20190910_175013.jpg 20190910_175018.jpg
5. Diamond ring wrap...I was so inspired by another PSer, and please forgive me as I cant remember who right now, but she found the most gorgeous ring wrap! I thought this one might work with my great grandmother's ring but it didn't. It's not my size and the only ring that I have that works is a ring from ruby lane that is beautiful but I'm not sure if the stone is real or synthetic, I just really liked it and it was before PS. 20190910_180248.jpg 20190910_180152.jpg 20190910_180155.jpg
And it fits on my pinkie, but that would be a real honker for a pinkie unless I got the rings resized and the wrap really isn't that sparkly. So unfortunately it's going back.
So, keeping platinum heart pendant and citrine ring and returning eternity band, cluster, and wrap. A bling day is the best, thanks for looking and hugs to all.

@bling_dream19 I’m dying here! We must have very similar tastes. I was the one who found the over-the-top retro ring wrap on Ruby Lane! Also, Edwardian era is my “thing,” and I have a flower cluster on my wish list. I just love that pendant. My birthstone is citrine (!!) AND my wedding band is a thin bead-set band with edges like the one you wanted (no miligrain). Neato, we’re bling sisters. Just had to post. Nice haul, and I’m very proud of you for returning what didn’t work out!

We are bling sisters girl! :wavey::appl: and hugs! I love your wrap and sooo perfect you can wear that gorgeous garnet and stunning CBI! We have similar taste and size bc my ering is 1.17! And u know I'm a November citrine birthday girl too! I'm loving my cluster and now want cluster ring and cluster earrings! I'm so glad you reached out @KristinTech because you inspired me to get a wrap even though mine didn't work. Thanks for recognizing the return. Seller was great edith estate jewelry. I love your band too absolute perfection. I've decided I'm going modern on my left hand and proved vintage edwardian on my right because my heart is leaning that way. You are awesome :kiss2:

I don't think you are being too picky. If you don't love it, don't settle. If those things bother you now, they will in the future. Also, if you decide after the return period it's not for you, she will not accept it back on consignment. You have to spend 2.5 times the price to use it for a trade. That's what I recall she told me, because I had bought a few things awhile back.

ETA: I have a cuff made from a deco brooch that nobody wants that I got from Dolly. I am about ready to throw it away... I had wanted to see if I could do something with it and that's why I asked about her policy.

@elizat thank you for the advice, I really appreciate it! What made me decide to keep it was that I couldn’t bring myself to wrap it up for a return. I don’t think I’ve ever stared at a new ring this much!

I do remember your bracelet from Dolly. Are the diamonds big enough to repurpose for something else?

I am glad you decided it worked for you! Sometimes it takes some thinking.

On the bracelet, the center is .80ish. The rest are smaller stones and it is probably another 1.25 to 1.5 carats of smaller stones, but that is the largest. I don't wear small stones and I have learned this about myself. If I pulled out the .80 center I'd never wear it in a ring or something. It's just not something I'd reach for and I don't do dainty necklaces- they disappear on me. So, I don't know what to do with it!

I wonder if you might have better luck selling the stones loose? The .8 would be a good size for a pendant and those are always popular. Someone might have use for the smaller ones too.

So I have been eyeing lozenges for two-three years , knowing that pfffff I will never find one that fits my requirements (antique or clean source, 2ct because 10mm long mini, low color. [i looooooove L and under , don’t ask; g and above just don’t make my heart sing], skinny more than squat, and VS1 and better ( stupid eagle eyes even) now that I am 40++), at good symmetry; no brown undertone, and as cheap as possible ===> making my quest come to a $15k budget or so if not more.:cry2::cry2::cry2:) Husband is :eek2:
Never came across the unicorn or of course, too expensive or too late.
Chatting with Erica about another piece and she says “oh , wait I have a shipment coming you are going to die”. And of course I have absolutely zero money in the bank for fluffy expenses (because I just incured stupid medical bills due to a fall).
And off she pops this little guy.
The only not on my list : it is not skinny. And it is wayyyy under the budget I was looking at.
So
2.23ct
11.41 x 9.57 mm
K VS1 (with a ever so lightly pinkish hue) type IIa
Man Made by Diamond Foundry.
I have looked at MMD for a long while and now they are much better.
So off I went to see it in person and bam!
I don’t care what people say about MMD , they have the same visual properties and durability etc. I always keep all my pieces so I could care less about resale value.
It is absolutely gorgeous and pics do not do it justice (the step cut facets always look off symmetry wise because the facets light up in turn on pics but IRL it is amazing!)

I ask husband if we can , and idk how but he gives me the green light ( we basically exchanges le three texts!)

Now onto designing a ring.

Oh I am excited to see this...I am slowly moving towards the man made myself...if it is K and under.
Hoping you post it finished and set.

Well........bummer. Miss Sugar was damaged while she was being set. The lovely vendor was very transparent and ethical in telling me this and providing a video of the damaged stone. She was more than understanding when I declined to buy the ring with the Spessie damaged. I feel bad not only for me, but for the vendor.

I am surprised at how upset I am. I really fell in love with the stone. I am putting off jewelry purchases for a month while I change everything in my living room. New area rug, window treatments, TV, TV stand, pillows, wall art and such. I am silly like that.

Oh no! I’m sorry this happened :cry2:. It must be so disappointing for you. I was looking forward to seeing the beautiful spess ring on your hand. Hopefully redecorating your living room will take your mind off of this.

@2Neezers -Thank you for understanding. I noticed that many of my jewelry purchases occur when I am under stress or when the seasons change. I get a bit melancholy during season changes. Choosing a new gem and undergoing the process of having it set lifts my spirits. So it can be emotional for me. I really fell in love with that Spessie and got perhaps too excited to get it. We can have long winters here. So I though wouldn't it be nice to make the living room as comfortable and cheerful in preparation of winter. :)

I've been thinking of this Tiffany Paper Flower ring in rose gold. They brought it in for me and I saw it today, I just want to sleep on it. It's for a special occasion - I got a new job and moving to San Diego. I just can't decide whether to get it here before I go, or wait to buy it there. I want it now :kiss2:

Just delivered from Finewater Gems - 3.84ct IF purple/grey spinel, 9.2mm x 7.8mm, from Burma. Its STUNNING. Colorwise, the first photo in the box is probably the most accurate, tho indirect sunshine gives a LOT of beautiful purple flashes!

I'm planning to re-do *this* ring:

https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/grey-spinel-and-diamonds-by-dkj.245462/

My new stone is somewhat larger, and the color is just a smidge more purple and a touch less grey. And I like its shape a little better also.

Also - and sorry to be a thread hog, here! - somebody asked for a photo of my charm bracelet. It's not done yet - still 4 charms to go, but I'm getting there. When I have all the charms finally together, I'll remove the spring clasps and have the charms attached permanently so they sit a little higher. In the end, it will have 18 charms on it. Eleven will be custom made and unique. I've been going for a modern vibe on this. A lot of charms are somewhat twee or cutesy. I've been after a more streamlined, cleaner look. We'll see what the finished product brings!

Thank you, @EllenS1! And - nice to see you! :wavey:

I'm still working on it, and even have one new charm since this was taken! The cupcake is now gone (I'm trying to do away with all 'cutesy') and am thinking of a number of new ones! All of these are very substantial; I was looking at someone else's charm bracelet the other day and it had 4 times the charms I have - at least - and mine was heavier. I think I will ultimately have a charm on every link, so this will be substantial indeed. I do hope it ends up being spectacular; these individual little pieces of creativity cost a bomb!! I'm having a great time with it, tho, and it's one of the more fun projects I've ever done. :))

I hope all is well with you - don't be a stranger! :wavey:
