Wow

I'm so confused. Is this ring a doppelgänger of yours?

@lulu_ma it's the same, it was mine. I bought it from ebay for 1400 and returned it, because I had an unheated one coming in the mail. When someone was looking for a ruby, I posted the link with the ring that I returned and apparently the IG seller bought it. If you read the second thread, it will make sense.

Ahhh. Okay, I understand now.

Wow indeed!

I wonder what makes it justifiable for the price hike!

DK

Annoying! I almost bought it when you posted about it but was too slow

That was a nice price for a great ruby, initially, I would have jumped on that too.

More concerning are tradespeople who are stalking our tips but not participating in the community. It actually irks me because they are scooping things from PSers then selling them back to PSers.

People are going to hate me for saying this because one of the philosophies of being a vendor is: it’s ok to make money on your finds, and alls fair and to the first/risk takers go the spoils… which I partially agree with but I think there are many people here just capitalizing on our free and good will sharing.

I think there used to be a Meet up forum here that was locked for members only or something like that. So maybe not an impossible idea.

There still is. It's just been dead and no one has written in it in over a year. It definitely should be possible to have a section of the forum locked and limited. It could also be password protected, or with access being granted on a case by case basis, although these options would increase the workload of the single moderator we have left. Whether access could be limited to people over a certain number of posts depend on the back-end capabilities of the website, but forum boards usually have this option.

I suppose we can’t know for sure they bought it by seeing it in posts here…

To be fair, I must agree. We all search and many of us are bookmarking/considering the same items. PS users often share their leads to all, but we aren’t the only ones in the know.

Since it sold, they removed the price. What did she charge for it? It's a beautiful ring!
