Would you change the shape of your engagement ring stone?

Thanks to all who responded. Although I love my RBC 3 stone ring I have "discovered" that I also love the look of a honking cushion cut solitaire.

Once you go 3 stone, can you go back to wearing a solitaire?

Sure you can! I have a feeling that''s what I''m going to do. Don''t get me wrong, I love my three stone however there is a checkout woman at my local Walgreens that I ring stalk every time I go in. She has the.most.gorgeous solitaire ring and I covet it! It''s a 2 ct platinum set very high. She bought it in Italy. I also fell in love with Matatora''s Locke setting. So I''m pretty sure what I want is a big ole honkin'' solitaire in a high set crown like setting. Hmmmm.......heaven!

R, my first ring was round. I went to a three stone emerald and now to a larger emerald cut but set with tapered baguettes. I LOVE LOVE LOVE emerald cuts. (can you tell I love them?) I also like some other shapes but I am so in love my stone that I would be hard pressed to change shapes. I was in London last week and saw some of the most incredible rings in the Graff windows...on New Bond Street. There were some huge emerald cuts (20 plus carats, all set like mine, but oh my gosh I told my dh that my stone was the baby that came out of one of those!!! He was only vaguely amused, must think I am hinting again?!) There were some of all shapes, including a massive lozenge shape (this is their term, it looked liked a large kite to me, and was very different but not really my taste)...I had passed back by and was rushing to meet my dh down the street at another store and since I am not in the market for a 45 carat D IF asscher I decided not to even tempt myself and go in the store...it was in the window, I would still be staring at it now if my dh had not rushed me back to the hotel!!!! Seriously, I love emerald cuts but also adore cushions and asschers too. So, I think you have to get what appeals, I think a large cushion maybe set with some detail would be awesome. (I tend not to like stones all by their lonesome, they look a bit nekkid to me but that is jmho...)
