Girdle Ex thin to Slightly Thick
HCA 1.7
I know the ex thin girdle can be a problem but....
**Jeweler offering this stone is very trusted and offers 100% trade in.**
* The stone will be insured with Jewelers Mutual Insurance *
So would you purchase?
Thank you!!

I think it would depend on the price of the stone. Personally I would not buy any diamond that wasn't an excellent or ideal cut but that's just me.

Also, is it eye clean? And does the jeweler still offer 100% trade in if the girdle is chipped (being that it's extra thin?)?

Have you seen it? Does it look spectacular and gorgeous to you? If it does and the price is right, then go for it. But if you're asking what would I do, then I would pass based on the very good cut, the extra thin girdle and not knowing if it's eye clean.

Let us know what you decide!

Yes it is eye clean and beautiful in person. IF it chipped wouldn't that be covered under the insurance? From what I understand the ex. thin girdle does not at all affect the beauty of the stone. I think what put it into the Very Good cut category was the ex thin girdle. This is a big purchase and I am also not in any rush..want to get it right.
The stone is 40k

I would double, double check with your specific insurance policy as they are not all created equal. Find out what happens if the girdle chips and depending on what you have selected, you may get a pay out, a replacement, etc. Those will all depend on what you have selected in your policy and it will be reflected in how much your premium and deductible cost.

Are you planning on putting it in a setting that will protect the girdle? If not, I might think about another stone. I would hate
for you to be constantly worried about chipping the girdle.

I want to set in a very open setting. Maybe this is not the right stone for me :(
Thank you for all your advice.
