Author: jetmalhow do you put the pic right in the posting????

Yeah! I want to know too - I still can''t figure it out........ :)

i actually had to make my computer take a picture because the sites these are on will not let you copy them. then i loaded into my program renamed it and hit reply in the post. attach file and selected the picture. you can also copy the URL address and hit the little mountain button and paste, when replying and that will save you a ton of time saving it to your hard drive, renaming etc.
Is this somehow different than attaching a file as I normally do? Why do some pics posted show up within the text of the posts (with text above and below it) as opposed to mine which always seem to show up as a separate entity below the post itself? Does that make sense????

Okay, that picture didn''t work. I had to take a screen shot but I can''t figure out where my computer is storing them (newer computer). So sorry. Here is the link.

I think the bottom three would be great. I am **pretty** sure I read on here that the "tacori scallop design" is copywritten. I am sure you could find someone to do it but it might just be easier to get the real thing.

Top right on

$3670 and has the trillion sidestones like the one you listed.

My e-ring has a knife edge. It felt odd for the first few days, then I got used to it and now I don''t notice it at all. It looks really cool, so I''m glad my ring has it.

I love the tacori setting. I also like the settings tacori e-ring has presented for you. Those are all beautiful!

thanks everyone for all your valued opinions! This is a really hard decision....I love them both, for different reasons. I think the deal breaker may end up being price. I can obtain the Verragio for less. ohh what to do , what to do!!!

thanks again for all the input and pics, I really appreciate it!

Jetmal,

Here''s something you might find useful: a link to Tacori''s collections with style numbers:
http://www.tacori.com/collections/collections.html

You can look at large pictures of every collection and zoom in on the rings you like. What I did is just write down all of the numbers of settings I liked and got price quotes on them, and then decided between the affordable ones.

By the way, if you like a setting but it has parts in yellow gold and yellow diamonds which you might not want, they can make it all white. This is the ring I ended up getting in all white:

yes, you can use the little mountian symbol to copy a picture that is already on the internet somewhere. Here's a fun
thread. they did change the way to do it and the new directions are updated on the page 4

ChooChoo,

thanks for the link, I went and checked them all out. It was very helpful..

They are all so beautiful!!!!

I must try to find a dealer of that brand in my area and go see them in person and try them on before I decide between that one and the Verragio.

I will keep you all posted!

Choochoo,

I could only find 2 stores in my area that carry Tacori. I took the mermaid setting, with the diamonds going half way around the band, not the entire band, and I called Sisters Jewelry (like you told me too, I got too antsy waiting for an email back), and then I called one of the local ones here.....I can not believe the difference in price!!!

Local Store, Husars Diamonds- price $6420.00
Sisters- price $ 4400.00

WOw, 2 k less! I am amazed. Now, I dont know how I feel about ordering something and having it shipped to me without every seeing the piece. The 2 stores here do not have this particular setting. They have some Tacori, but not this one.

The 4400, is still alittle out of my price range too.......but I could not , NOT find out about it.

just wanted to let you know that Sister does have awesome pricing, like you said!

Tacori will send your local jeweler a sample setting. You are comparing apples with oranges. Why don''t you find a Tacori design you like WITHOUT side stones? That will cut the price in half.

This one is slightly different than the Tacori rings you''ve been looking at but is a super great deal if you like it and it can work for a princess..it doesn''t show a side view but I bet bill could email pictures and knowing Tacori it''s probably got some cool engraving or something..

point well taken.......I do love the side stones though....especially if I do not have the funds to get a amtching wedding band right now.....the Verragio is thicker and looks more like a unity band , to me, so no band will be needed. I did try the Verragio with a matching band and it looked way too fat for my little fingers.

well, I have another dilema anyways.....The jeweler that I bought my original set from is going to pay me what I paid for the setting , plus 5% appreciation, for the 10 yrs I have had it.....and that equals an extra $1,000. Thats way more than any other jewelers have offered me. So, in total I will be getting approx $3200 for my exisitng setting.

They carry the Verragio, but not the Tacori. I HAVE to use the $3200 trade in, or I will not be able to do the upgrade at all. My only hope is that they can call Tacori and see if they can get approved to order me one to look at.......and the manager is off today, so I have to call him back tomorrow.

aaaaarrrrgggghhhh
Tina

thanks Mrs., I sent an email asking for more pics!

will the jeweler let you use the trade in amount for the stone and you can purchase your setting elsewhere?

this is a sticky, long complicated story.......let me see if I can give you a short version of it.

ok, I purchased my original setting from Rogers & Hollands back 10 yrs ago. I used to work there and my manager became a good friend of mine, who today, now works for Fred Meyers.

I was originally going to trade in the R&H setting to Freds and get eveything with my friend. I like to get her as much sales as I can. But, she can only get me $2, 000 at Freds, where as R & H will pay me $3200. So, my plan was to get the setting thru R & H ( the Verragio), and then go to Freds to get the diamond thru my friend......another plus of doing it this way is that 4 yrs ago, I purchased a 1 carat princess cut anniversary band, which I never wear, and I could get $2,000 for that, to apply towards my diamond.

So, I can get the Verragio, as an even exchange for my current setting, and then $2,000 towards a new princess cut at Fred's with my friend.

So, that was the plan, but now I fell in love with the Tacori too.....and neither mall stores carry it. I want to maximize my trades ins as much as I can......

any suggestions?

Honestly, I''m not liking either ring. I have a three stone ring with trillions, and I am not crazy about it. Trillions are very shallow, so they look quite "lifeless." They don''t really sparkle much and they tend to look cloudy, in general. A jeweler warned me of this before I got the ring, but I didn''t listen. Now I wish I would have. I think the Verragio looks somewhat 80s or 90s. It just looks outdated to me, even though it is obviously a new design. Hate to be so honest, but hey, it''s just my opinion.

Hey, how about the "XI" under Bridal I? It is very similar, but with trapezoid sidestones. I really like that one...I think it would be a neat contrast with your princess! What do you think?

Singer, thanks for your honest opinion. So, you don''t like the trillions hey? I have been obsessing about the trillion side stones, why I have no idea.....just liked the way they looked on the side of a princess. But, I definetly dont want them to be lifeless or less sparkly. I will have to really think about that.....can you post a pic of your ring? or a link to a previous thread that has a pic of yours?

thanks

I only have a camera phone right now, so you wouldn''t even be able to see my ring clearly. I will post a pic as soon as I can get my hands on one!

Jetmal,

It''s funny because I was obsessed with trillions when I got mine. My fiance kept telling me to take my time and to not make a decision to quickly. Obviously, I didn''t listen to him, and boy did I hear it when I said I didn''t like it anymore (about two days after the purchase

I hate when I type too quickly and miss the extra "o" in "too." I am a first year 8th grade English teacher, and I am very particular about spelling (especially my own

yes, but its so hard to be patient when one is so excited, hey????

I told you, Sisters have awesome discounts! I have to admit, I was so worried about their discounts that I called Tacori to confirm that the ring was legit (it was, much to my relief). I think they want to sell so many that they REALLY discount as much as they can get away with without losing their Tacori account.

I also thought trialliants were not as awesome as person as they looked online, which is how I ended up with pear cut sidestones. Have you considered those at all?

choochoo,

no, I have not considered pears before......I was always obsessed with the trillions.
I will look at some in person and be open minded to the idea.

maybe I will post a thread asking people about their trillions.....

thanks again for the Sisters tip!

ok, now I remember why I hate those chain jeweler stores.....

so, we go to R & H to look at trhe Verragio setting. Looks great, I love it. Prior to today, I had talked to a sales person there, and she told me they will pay me $3100 for my trade in. Thats all she said. So, tonight, when I met with the manager to discuss price, he confirms the trade in amount, but then continues on to say........that I need to purchase almost double the amount, to get that amount off.....so I would need to spend around $6k, to get it for $3 k. OR, I can trade in my current ring, and pay $1500 for the Verragio , which costs $3200.

Gosh, I may be dumb....but I was not aware that I was going to have to spend double the amount, just to get that amount for my trade in. My plan was to go to my friend at Fred Meyers to get the diamond, as she can get me a better deal, plus I have another trade from there I wanted to use (see previous posts if you are confused).

So, I tell the manager that I am disappointed, and he says he''ll take both my trades if I get the diamond there as well. I thought I''d humor him and let him bring some out. Of course he did not have any good ones, and seemed annoyed when I asked for specs.....he said, hmmm, you did your homework hey? So, he invited me to their diamond mounting/restyle show next Fri. He said he''d call in for some more stones, etc...

So, basically, it boils donw to this.
Verragio setting-$3200
1.5-ish princess cut Diamond-$8500 -just using this as an example of a few he showed me
total: $11,700
minus $5,000 for both trade in
$6700 due.

I guess that not a bad price when you think about it, BUT, I had invisioned only spending around 3-4k.....thought the setting would almost be a swap like type deal.......
I have a headache!

quick update....I went this morning and tried on the Tacori mermaid ring.....I absolutely loved it.
The problem is I still love the Verragio setting as well! I would love to have them both!

On the Tacori ring the trillions next to the princess cut looked great, the way they were proportioned was great, and they had plenty of sparkle for me. The band was alittle scratchy, due to the pave and filigree cut outs....but I think I would get used to that. The only downfall I can see with this one is that it is a thinner band, and I may need to get a matching wedding band for it, and that would need to be done in the future, as I cant afford it right now.

The Verragio is more streamlined, and very comfortable on my finger. I like how the diamond is suspended in the semi-tension mount, allowing you to view all the sides of the diamond.
It is a thicker band, which I would not add a wedding band to. It looks like a unity ring on my finger.

I was hoping to NOT like the tacori, or hoping to have a huge preference......but I still love them both.

so, really the only difference is price. Verragio, $3200 from a local store here, or Tacori, $4400 ordered from Sisters Jewelers.

I hope I can decide soon!

I recently went thru this saga and I feel your pain.... My only advice is to go with your heart. I knew as soon as I saw the Tacori.... I looked for several weeks - Ritani, Kirk Kara, etc - and still came back to the same ring and ordered it. I also went thru the $$$ money saga. The setting itself was $7290 !!! I had them remove the 2 side stones and it came down $3000! They get a lot of the side stones.... I got the Rosebud minus sidestones w/the wide of the Koala... awaiting on arrival

i love the verragio but would worry about chipping the stone. if you do go ver, get that baby insured quick.

Jetmal decided on the Verragio- you can see pics here
