Will you get drunk tonight?

No, I haven't had alcohol in many years. My last hangover was in '03

lol I just realized by saying that I was 'sober', it makes me look like I was an addict! OOPS  Nope, it was my choice! I just was no longer interested

Is there a correlation between being a bling addict and not drinking? I was "sober" for many years, and now I only have 1 or 2 drinks max ever. I usually dislike drinking..

Haha perhaps. If we don't drink that leaves all the more $$$ for bling. :cheeky:
Happy New Year Madelise! :wavey:

Okay THIS makes total sense. Hahaha. Alcohol, especially whilst out and about, is really darn expensive! I know friends who spend hundreds each weekend... Imagine the bling that would buy! :naughty: :snooty:
Haha. HAPPY NEW YEAR, MISSY!! :wavey:

ha guess i go against the grain..i drank a bottle of wine...had a pretty good glow going..but was in bed by 10:30 ;)

I'm off the booze right now but DH and I worked a very high end wedding rather last minute last night for some friends that coordinate weddings. There were several open bars and LOTS of ridiculously drunk people. We were allowed to eat/drink as well. DH had a couple scotches but that was it. We ended up with a couple of bottles that were leftover to bring home. I'll be having some in August.

I loathe the taste of alcohol, always have. Makes me a great designated driver!

Often I do get drunk on NYE - usually the one day I year I get beyond "slightly tipsy" because we host a NYE party every year and I don't have to worry about anything but making sure anyone else who is drunk crashes at our place or takes a cab home rather than driving. But this year I only had one glass of sangria so I was briefly tipsy and that was it.

The food was the real draw of our NYE party, I thought - baked figs wrapped in prosciutto and goat cheese, drizzled in honey + the most amazing breadsticks for appetizers; veal cordon bleu with asparagus for the main course, and panna cotta with pomegranate sauce + walnut baklava for dessert.

Hahahhaha yes... I have friends who easily spend $100/week on beverages out at bars and restaurants, if not more... that's $5k a year or more! I can't imagine spending that much on drinking. I would much rather funnel the thousands into bling or books (that's, like, way more books than I could possibly read in a year though). My husband does drink socially quite a bit more than I do, but that's okay because I can just always be the designated driver.

We had a party here last night and I had several lovely Manhattans. It was a fun night!

I don't really drink. I'm not opposed, but I don't really enjoy it. Plus, my job is teaching kids to make good life choices and not drink/use substances, so it feels pretty hypocritical if I do.

Was a little tipsy for a half hour or so, but that only takes one glass to accomplish. Mainly I just ate to damn much which gave me nausea and heartburn.

I've never met anyone who enjoys Manhattans like I do!

cheers--Sharon

I sure did. We had people over, drinking until about 6am, woke up at 10 for breakfast and then back to bed until 1. The rest of the day was not very productive haha.
