Will you avoid travel or major entertainment events due to Iran’s threats?

We have a trip planned to Europe in less than 2 weeks. Now I am scared. Scared of airports. Scared of being on a plane. Scared of major tourist attractions. What about you?

I’ve been scared since 9/11.

I don’t do crowds. I purposely seek out flights that are 2 hrs or less to destinations that aren’t crowded. I don’t do big concerts or ballgames unless it’s a SUPER special occasion. But obviously I know plenty of people who do, and I’m always lowkey terrified for them.

I don’t live near a black blob but I do live about 60 minutes from a nuclear plant. I just hope I get one dropped directly on me because I do NOT want to try to survive the fallout.

I’m really done with this place.

Happily, I no longer go anywhere, or "do anything" that society :roll:considers to be "anything".
Happily, It's been that way for several years now.

The only so-called "entertainment" worth my time is producing my own music and art, PS, music on CDs, and curated high quality non-commercial content that is streaming on The Criterion Collection.

No need, or desire to consume empty meaningless fluffy garbage, aka today's entertainment. :knockout:

Life right here at home is ideal and wonderful for me and my DH.:dance::dance:

But, as always, you do you.

Scary times to be sure! I think it’s worth being cautious of the situations we put ourselves in these days. However, airport security post 9/11 is very good in the US.
I also think life is short and we should live it and enjoy it! Your trip sounds wonderful and I hope you have a great time!

I'm scared. I live in So Cal, so there are a lot of entertainment, tourist, and military targets - all very close. I can't think about it or I'll become reliant on anxiety meds.

Hubby & daughter are flying to Mexico next week. Can't think about that, either. I'm already a wreck when anyone travels, but now....

We (me & kids) are planning a trip to Europe in the fall, which I just realized is only three months away. If they're going to do something on US soil, I wish they'd get it over with. I guess scaring us and making us live in constant fear is the point.

I'm anxious just writing this. F*ck.

And this is exactly the issue.
Will they do something? When will they do something? Where will they do something?
It’s the fear and uncertainty now created that will “cripple” many people. Americans in particular can no longer feel safe, no longer know what comes next and when.
The only worse place to be in my opinion is in Israel.

Still travelling, however, the plan to travel to US in 2027 has been cancelled back in November 2024. :roll2:

No plan for foreign travel in 2025 such as a trip to Japan for my significant birthday celebration due to financial constraints, now resolved.

If work requires me to travel then I shall do so.

Been through 9/11 while I was in Canada, and 7/7 in London (that was a very close call).

Not shying away from travel, life goes on defiantly - if my time is up, then so be it.

DK :))

I am still travelling & think like @dk168 - I will get on with exploring the world until told otherwise. I’m taking my 16 year old to Paris in August for a few days on a girlie trip before she starts college.

I have battled health anxiety for years & finally got it under control about 12 years ago, thanks to a lot of therapy. I now have a box of fantastic tools that I can apply to anything in times of anxiety. I will not let something a long way away from me & completely out of my control, dictate how I live my life. I try to live as peacefully & as stress free as possible.

I will never visit the US. again. I guess II would. do Europe as they now like Canadians. For the first time, Canadians are. no longer seen as just like or the same as Americans. I. only know this because my husband travels for a living (and is harangued while in the. US btw). But he is very welcomed in Europe and South America. I would go to Barbados with him as he goes there a lot. I don't blame anyone in the US for being very cautious of everything though. You were thrown into something. I never would have dreamed could happen. I'd probably take Kenny's approach if I could. Yes, I'm still wary and I get stressed hearing about things. I wouldn't travel as an American right now.

Those of you who aren't Americans with an impulsive and mentally unbalanced leader who is the laughing stock of the world are probably a bit safer when traveling than we are at the moment.

I’m in Europe now and glad to be in a place where the majority thinks (correctly) that our leaders are nuts. I don’t care to go home atm but have to in July.
