Why is this 2.76ct H SI2 not an excellent cut?

It has an HCA score of under 2. Why has it been classified by GIA as only VG? Is it because of the 4% girdle?

Can anyone recommend another stone if this one is no good? Budget is under $25k. H-I colour, clarity eye-clean SI2 or better. Prefer GIA or AGS. With or without fluor (MB) is ok.

Brillianteering. GIA automatically drops the cut grade by one grade when brillianteering exceed a certain limit regardless of its effect on the optical performance. Request an idealscope image if possible.

Thanks. How can you tell it's brillianteering and what is it exactly?

This looks promising. Request idealscope image and ask if eye-clean if you are interested.

Thx again. I'll ask them. The plot scares me however.

I'd also prefer a stone closer to 9mm. Originally, I wanted a 3ct but the budget didn't stretch.

Don't be scared off by a plot.
But equally do not expect to find many 2.5ct plus stones let alone eye clean ones.

In those proportions a little painting might make the stone very nice.

So, the H SI2 stone may actually be ok? I thought painting/ brillianteering is to be avoided? If doing so is to make the stone LOOK better, doesn't that mean it was inferior to start with?

Its a lot more complex than that Bling.
A decade ago a very popular brand was built on painting and there are still fans of that look here - vendors and consumers.
