@SallyB
I'm probably preaching to9 the chioir...but have you seen live from Daryl's house? Here's Pat Monahan (train) signing an H&O classic....

eta- I haven't' listened to this in years- and the chills running up my back are still there....

Thanks for posting this, @Rockdiamond! “Live from Daryl’s House“ repeats are now on AXS TV. Oh, how I would’ve loved to have been a fly on the wall during the recordings of all those shows.

Daryl took the show on the road a few years ago. The late, great Sharon Jones was on the tour with him. I love this performance:

The Eagles. I'm salty that my husband got to see them up close and personal at a private function. "Hotel California" is my favourite song of all time.

Another Eagles fan :) I would’ve been jealous of my husband too!

I'm glad they're airing the older episodes...for years you could get all of them online at the LFDH site....oh well....

Ooh, hard.
1. Radiohead
2. Jane's Addiction
3. Clutch
4. Primus
5. Tom Waits
6. SIA
7. Nina Simone
7.5 Soul Coughing
8. Anything Blues
9. Punk bands no one will know
10. Whatever is on the classical station
Too many to choose, many I'm forgetting right this second.
I just like music. A lot.

Yeah, it’s a bummer that they took most of the episodes off the website. I don’t get AXS, but at least many of the performances are on YouTube.

My husband is a huge blues fan, so we went to a lot of blues shows pre-pandemic! We both like classical so we would usually go to a concert at least once a year.

Oh, what I wouldn’t give to have seen The Bee Gees, Simon & Garfunkel, and (1970’s) Rod Stewart live:lol-2:
I saw Billy Joel at Madison Square Garden a few years back and it was an amazing show!

So I haven’t seen them all in concert. I wish!!
I saw Bee Gees, last concert in US, Rod Stewart, Neil Diamond (amazing concerts) and Janet Jackson. I would give a kidney to see Billy Joel and Elton John together, or the Eagles.

Count me in!
* I'm sad because we just received our refund from what was to be a full family concert experience for our son's 16th.
Vampire Weekend
I spent my entire 'youth' in the grungy 90's going to concerts/festivals all over. I used to play hooky to do it periodically(thankfully, I had stellar grades and they (parents/school) tolerated this. We would disappear for up to a week sometimes. Also, Vermont- it was expected  Phish/Grateful Dead/Bread and Puppet, anyone?) Sad to say, things are different now for this batch of kids it seems.
I hope things get back to normal soon. My two haven't had those experiences and I'd like to give them a least a taste.

I’m a big music fan and my favorite performers are...wait for it...Hall and Oates.
Who is your favorite group/musician of all time?
Do you go to a lot of concerts?
And how long will you wait before you feel safe going to see your favorite performer again?
Saw them in concert last yr.

Can’t choose one without feeling like a liar. Thus, in order:

ok. Gonna stop at the 80s.
My music stop since the early 80's...

My all time favorites would be the Strokes! Such a classic 70s sound made differently and is oh-so feel good! I love every album theyve ever made and I think thats particularly rare!

Saw The Bee Gees in 1981. yes I would love to see Simon & Garfunkel and Rod Stewart too!.

I wanna see Fleetwood Mac, CCR and the original Stylistics of the 70's.

“Juicebox”! :D

So far my answer is all of the above. I can’t pick a favorite. As a kid I Ilistened to records for hours...JT, Simon and Garfunkle, Carly Simon, P,P &M (my first concert), CCR, Bobby Vinton...whatever my parents had. For a while they only allowed Christian music, for a while we had country only...Kenny Rogers, Ronny Milsap, Randy Travis. I know country music from that one time period only and don’t choose to listen to it now. My dad listened to oldies sometimes when oldies were 50’s and 60’s. I resent that oldies are now 80’s. :???:
When I got my first radio I would sneak off and listen to pop music (during the Christian music only phase)...whatever was current, top 40’s. By high school I had found the local college alternative station. My pandora play list is a real hodge podge. Underrepresented is rap and country. I’m sad that I’ll never see Tom Petty or The Eagles with Glen Frey.

ETA: I forgot about Captain and Tennile, The Carpenters, and Leif Garrett. I may have repressed memories of some of those albums. Lol

Of these, I’ve only seen Ronnie Milsap live (great show) and part of a Kenny Rogers concert. I do remember watching “The Bobby Vinton Show” when I was little in the ‘70s. Awesome! To me this song, written by Neil Sedaka, was the ‘70’s anthem:

@SallyB Thanks for that video!!
We saw Kenny Rogers long after he should have stopped, Just a few years ago. I knew all the lyrics...he didn’t. :eek-2: I kept hoping Dolly would come out and save the show.

Speaking of Neil, anyone remember this song?:

It was re-written for this commercial that seemed to run endlessly in the late ‘70’s:

I LOVE Neil Sedaka! He’s on my bucket list of concerts to attend.

Metallica - I spent thousands of dollars building a car stereo system designed specifically to play their songs super well.
The bass guitar tracts are very tricky to get to play clean on a home or car system. It will even trip up many studio monitors.
Bad Company
Firehouse
Def Leppard
Eagles
Poison
Pat Benatar
Black Sabbath
Ozzy
AC/DC
Many more.....

Current favorite song:
Tracy Byrd - The Keeper Of The Stars

Forgot Cheap Trick and they are from my hometown an I have met some of them in person.

These days I mainly listen to Christian rock

Saw Paul McCartney and Lionel Richie a couple yrs ago.

I really like this Tracy Byrd tune. And I’m not much into metal/hard rock, but I love AC/DC!
