Who Who is Diamond Fan?

It is a full eternity. I added a stone, and remade the mounting. It is platinum, shared prong. It looks much like the old one but it has more openness in the setting. I can add it to the photo shoot but Kaleigh and I have had a tough time getting together. I have a bunch of things and I believe she does too! It fits over my knuckles now but now it almost a bit big, but I had to add another stone or it would not fit. I think I might have to add sizer beads.

Can''t wait to see it. My fingers always swell in summer and I have a hard time taking my rings off. Maybe it will fit better in summer. My rings are always too big in winter time, drives me crazy, they always spin around.

I hope you and Lisa can get together soon. I am dying to see your ring and her Moonstone ring.

Linda

Did not see this til now! I hate that, don''t you?

That is my only worry with the pave trinity. I have to make sure I get a size that will still fit if I swell a bit, and is not too big in the winter. If I am really swollen I just won''t wear it I guess, but I want to chose wisely.

Hey DF, I wanted to ask you a few quick questions. If I recall correctly, you''re going to be (or already?) building a new home. Is this something you and your hubby have been planning for a long time? And are you designing it with an architect or are you customizing an existing plan?

Penn, we bought land and hired a local architect whose work we love. He has done work all over our area, and also in the Hamptons, NYC, Florida, Aspen, Montana, Utah and Santa Barbara.

We built our current house before our third was even a thought. Now with all my kids growing, I feel a bit squeezed. I think maybe 5 years ago (we had been here a couple of years) we started randomly looking for a new home. Nothing appealed, and we looked at everything in our area that was even remotely workable. Ended up finding the land and deciding to bite the bullet for the last time. And I mean LAST. Building prices are through the roof, even in this economy, but there was nothing like what we wanted out there on the market.

Are you and Nate thinking of building? MORE IMPORTANTLY, how are your precious little babes?

The babies are doing great. I''m not the pediatrician, but last week Savannah had an ear ache. Nate told me, I thought it was just a fever. But he''s been working with babies ever since I met him, so I took his word it. Gray has been having some tummy issues. I''m debating on if we should switch his formula. I think he might take better to something Soy based.

I''m going to have to hire some help. Nate''s been really pushing me, but I am like hesitant to do that.

When we were looking at houses, we never truly found something we wanted to live in for a long time. This house was custom built by the previous owners and that means it suited them, but for it''s just kind of okay. We''re definitely going to have at least one more kid and with the way this house is, it just wouldn''t be possible. And if have the four I want, it definitely wouldn''t work. There aren''t enough bedrooms. And the ones we have are really small. The closets are small and I HATE the kitchen.

I want something that we can grow into. And because of Nate''s career, I would like to be able to have the formal space to entertain. I got all of this beautiful China, but not the proper place to put it. I want a REAL Master suite. We don''t really have a playroom. I believe there is a proper place for everything, and toys belong in a playroom.

This came up because we were visiting his sister and noticed there was some land for sale and even if we didn''t build for a few years, we thought about buying the land anyway. I have a very definitive idea of what I want and thats why I think building would be the way to go.

Off to bed, will respond more later, but just FYI soy can be tough on little tummies...I had to switch my oldest around a bunch of times and it was tough to find something good.

Hi DF, I just wanted to stop by and say hi and give you a virtual hug, because even though I have only made it to about page 5 of your thread, I did see the thread with personal attacks against you.

It was so unnecessary, yet you handled it with the polished grace that is your essence.

Your family is so very lucky to have you. PS is lucky to have you too.

I so enjoy knowing you more via your notes.. its a shame you''re not near, it would be such fun to get together.. :) I think you''re a true breath of fresh air, down to earth, strong, just lovely all the way round really. :)
I feel the same way!

please let us know when you head out west.

I certainly will! I would love to meet the wonderful So. Cal gals.

Twice since July I have booked tickets and stuff to come to LA to see my mom. With this bar mitzvah and settling my kids back to school and the house, I just cannot leave for a week. I would have only had three full days, since I cannot miss any weekends, we have parties to go to for bar mitzvahs and things, and I would have flown Monday and come home Fri, leaving at noon. Too far to go for three days. But I have tons of family in Beverly Hills and that area, so maybe if I get out there we can work it out!!!

''I have always loved clothes and jewels. When we moved into our home, a neighbor came by to say hi. I was maybe three, and my mom was not home. I think I answered the door (where was the nanny, who knows?) and told the lady, my mommy is not here, would you like to see her jewelry? Nearly 40 years later this woman, a dear family friend, still laughs about this. (my mom was less than thrilled!). ''

I am laughing! That is such a cute anecdote! Sweet how enamoured little girls are of their mommies and her things when they are that age!

It is really so interesting reading about you and your life. Thank you for sharing and from one insomniac to another (I''m sure you''ve noticed I''m often here late at night and that is due to my own insomnia) hope you get some rest and feel some peace tonight! I look forward to hearing more from you!

Very funny story!

Jman, thanks! I have had the bling addiction from WAY back. My mom called me a crow, if it was shining or sparkling, I would get it.

I have only sons so hope they marry nice girls so I can divvy my treasures.

You would make a wonderful MIL to your sons wives! How are the boys?

Good Miss Skip, thanks. Finally back to school, finishing out the first week tomorrow. Getting into the groove, with bar mitzvah tutoring, doctor appointments, hair cuts, dentist and ortho visits, play dates, getting back to school clothes and bar mitzvah stuff, track meets, etc...it is all overwhelming to me right now, thank G*d I have two great people to help me who can manage and think ahead and do things to make my life easier.

Oh goodness, you are busy! My sister says her son keeps her plenty busy, then add 2 more to the mix! Glad you have people to help you! Are they loving school? What sports are they playing? Is the oldest still in track?

My oldest is still running, varsity XC now and loves it. Very dedicated in a way I NEVER was. Sits down to do chem and algebra and advanced Spanish without my telling him a thing. Middle one is sort of lazier, super smart too, and creative and innovative but not one to push harder than he needs to. Hope that changes, as their high school is SUPER hard. He will learn the tough way otherwise. Little one is so sweet, told hubby, I am smart and I am cute, but I think I am way cuter than I am smart. He cracks me up.

Wow, what accomplished sons, wonderful!!! LOL about the little one, he cracks me up too! Do they still like to get gelato?? I bet gelato is delicious after a cross country meet!!! You ran, that is so awesome! I could only run 3 miles in high school PE; we had to do it everyday! Good for your son, how far do they run?

He does about 50 miles a week. He runs most days, average is anywhere from 5-10 daily. Longer runs are usually on Sundays. He works pretty hard, this is in addition to tons of homework, jazz band and school newspaper plus he guides potential new students for his grade, which is quite and honor and there is a handbook they need to learn so they can answer questions about the school if the kid or parents ask. He is really pretty amazing for a 15 year old.

I would be super proud too! You are a wonderful mom and you are raising some wonderful children friend!

Thanks so much. I work hard at it, nothing else is important if your kids are not okay, and I know this is critical time. Hard too, when to let go, when to be more firm...I am learning too. I try to talk them as I would have liked to have been talked to, but they are not my friends either. It is about respect and boundaries, kids feel safer with them.

It still amazes me how different they can be , even with the same genetic combination of the same two parents.

I had to assure my sobbing daughter that her lost library book will not go on her "permanent record"
My son would be like "What library book?"

Like your youngest, he is going to cruise through life in his freckled cuteness.

You sound like you have three great kids Dfan!

(Where do you find the time Madame President?)

I appreciate that. Yes, they can be so different. All three of mine are very bright, but have different approaches. They all love music and art and are creative and have sports they love but their views are different.

Have any of them play instruments? how about you?

guitar and drums. My oldest plays electric and acoustic and writes music and sings. He is really good. My middle plays drums and even without much practice is good.

I only used to sing, I really wanted to be a singer but could not battle my extreme stage fright. I had a hard time even in front of a small crowd. I love to sing though my reflux has made my voice much more temperamental.

Awesome that your sons are so talented! How fun to write music!!!

Oh I wish I could sing, I am the worst singer! Think of the My Best Friends Wedding when Cameron Diaz sang! haha

Are you sleeping better? I have been sort of an insomniac lately!

Sucks to be in the sleepless club, doesn''t it? I am so envious that my hubby hits the pillow and is out like a light.

My kids are talented, they have talent in their gene pool (not from me!)
