I am in love with this solitaire from WF!

http://www.whiteflash.com/engagement-rings/solitaire/santorini-solitaire-engagement-ring-285.htm

One of my biggest concerns though is finding a wedding band to go with it. Is it pretty much a given that a wb would cover the "surprise diamonds"? Would the rubbing of gold and diamonds together be an issue?

On a further note... can you think of other rings that feature this organic feel (the scrollwork etc... looks almost Elven! :geek:)

Thanks

That ring is based off a Verragio design. Have you seen their rings? I think the diamonds in the setting would probably scratch a wedding band, yes. You may need a spacer. Or you could try to find a really low profile band so it won't meet the surprise diamonds, but will kind of be sitting underneath them.

Hi Laila,

I do like Veraggio designs but they are out of budget I think. What does a spacer look like and where can I find one?
Thanks :)

I've never seen that setting... Very, very pretty!

I would ask Whiteflash what they think about pairing it with a band. They may have a low profile one that will work!

That is my favorite solitare setting. I would think Whiteflash has several band options for it. Please post back with their suggestions.

I don't think the diamonds would scratch, since they are bezeled, but they are set so low that yes, I think a wedding band might cover a goodly portion of them. That said, I wear this solitaire (http://www.pearlmansjewelers.com/jewelry-designers/scott-kay-jewelry/rings/169U1/) with this band (http://www.whiteflash.com/right-hand-rings/danielle-jazz-bezel-diamond-right-hand-ring-174.htm) and the bezel band sits low enough that I can still see the surprise stone. As previously suggested, I would ask WF to take some pictures with different bands for you so you can see how much of the stones might be covered.

Another option is to get a simpler solitaire, and pair it with a more intricate profiled band.

Ooh, gecko, that's a good idea. I, too, have the Danielle band (see avatar :cheeky: ) and can attest that it does sit very low. If the OP likes it, she could ask WF if it would sit low enough next to the Santorini to still see the profile.

Great ideas guys, thanks so much! I will contact WF.
