Hello,

Has anyone had luck, with WF discounts, besides the wire one?

Thanks
Corkman

I would not be surprised if WF and others gving discount because from what I read, demand is down, lab grown diamonds prices have gone down. People are taking a good hard look at lab grown vs. mined diamond pricing.

If they are, it certainly hasn’t been advertised. I have never known these vendors to negotiate prices. Perhaps the OP should call and ask if they take offers of any type.

Any discount I thought that there might be a PS discount.

No, there is no PS discount. We are all consumers here - save for the trade members - and do not benefit from helping others on the forum.

I would expect this to be the case but I think that for the bride or groom who has always dreamed of a diamond ring, the lab will not do. It comes too easy. I think there are several well to do folks out there who still want the real deal and they are oblivious to the market trends. Same people who opt for Tiffany or Harry Winston or any luxury brand.

According to a recent WSJ article to my surprise lab grown is getting lots of attention and sales. If what you said is true, then why does WF and BGD offer lab grown? Perhaps they see the trend and they do not want to lose a sale. There will always be those people who want a mined diamond. If we do a little math, if I buy a lab grown vs. mined stone, I can either save a lot of money or the flip side, for the same price as a mined stone, I can buy a bigger rock.

I said for some—not for the masses. Some. Will. Opt. For. Natural. Didn’t negate the popularity of lab grown just saying that I don’t think vendors are gonna slash the prices of naturals at the rate that lab growns are being slashed.

4 years ago, some people were paying thousands more for lab grown than now. The lab grown market keeps dropping.

I would invite lab grown owners to post the price they paid, the year they bought and size color carat info. Would be interesting. Same for natural owners.

I like your use of periods in your above post. Is that shouting or trying to emphasize a point? Have not seen that before.

Slash price, I just don’t know what diamond vendors do with current inventory they paid for. You can be sure they are buying at lower prices for new inventory. I read that vendors are stocking less inventory, seems to make sense to tie up money in unsold inventory. Some other facts (facts are facts): Chinese market is way off. Younger people( in general) care less about mined vs. lab grown. The institution of marriage is down compared to previous years. Some, not all are looking at other center stones besides diamonds.

Maybe @Texas Leaguer can chime in. Why speculate when he can tell us.

Wasn’t shouting. My way of spelling it out for you since you overgeneralized my first comment. Was slowing down the pace for you.

Thank you for helping me out.

I've recommended WF many many times but never claimed my $100, or whatever it is.
I've never told anyone, "Tell them Kenny sent you."
Also, I tell them to not mention my name.

IMO if they know there's nothing in it for me, the advice I give is more unbiased and can be trusted.

We do our best to keep our prices competitive, considering the added value we provide. So we don't run sales per se. But we do sometimes lower prices where necessary to follow the market or for other reasons. Some here might have been following a diamond over time and seen a price change. From time to time the designer brands we represent may provide an incentive, and we are able to pass that savings along.

All that said, I would encourage our customers to inquire with us regarding any special opportunities to save money. Fitting into a customer's budget to make the process as stress-free as possible is a priority for us. Our consultants are great at providing guidance and when appropriate requesting special accomodations from the leadership team.

I would also recommend taking advantage of the new registration, customer loyalty, and referral programs. @kenny , we appreciate your sensibilities and we thank you for your stealth referrals. But know that we do love sending out those referral checks because it means business!

Thanks TL.

Personally I trust advice more knowing the source has nothing (financially) to gain.
Actually I'd rather increase the odds of sharing the love of rainbow exploding diamonds more than I would a C note.

I guess we 'referers' just vary too.
