In a princess diamond which is more important colour or symmetry?
I''m asking all the resident diamond experts to help me pick which will look the best.
I don''t have the option to see either diamond before I buy

For example

Colour: F
Symmetry: Excellent

OR

Colour: D
Symmetry: Very good

Both are fairly close in price. But I haven''t a clue which is the best

Many thanks for any help offered

You want an ideal cut princess if at all possible. I think both WhiteFlash and Good Old Gold sell them. They are graded by AGS, but Good Old Gold may also carry some by GIA that are also excellent cut. As far as color goes, D is really unnecessary unless you just have the extra money. F is still in the colorless range, and G is fine in most well cut stones. There are people here with colors lower than that as well.

Thanks for the advise both diamonds were Very Good cut.
I have read as much as I can but there is some much to learn and so little time!!!

I know this is a very general question and probably impossible to answer but if you had around $10k to spend on a princess cut diamond what would you get?
I wanted to get at least 1.5C and would like if it had no obvious inclusions but after that I get pretty lost.
Any advise or guidance would be very much appreciated.

Also I have been looking on Blue Nile so far but I have noticed that posters here seem to think there is much better value elsewhere. (I''m from Ireland and Blue Nile is about 50% below retail here so I though I was getting a massive bargain) What are the best sites out there?

It looks like Whiteflash and Good Old Good make sure to select the nicest princess for their ACA or GOG selection. Have you thought about the X Factor by WF or the Expert Selection could be a good value.

Thanks for the advise I''ll check out those sites.

What do you think is the best trade off between colour, clarity and weight in a princess cut diamond?

WF doesn''t seem to have any princess Expert Selection in the range 1.4 to 1.7.
