But, it is not as bright as an RB, and so not as eye catching from accross the room. I think that for five-stone rings, or eternity bands, or other jewelry where you have smaller diamonds (like under .30ct), RBs are really great because they are so bold and bright. In those sizes you also cannot really see facets very well, you just get an overall impression of sparkle, so I think the strengths of RBs would outweigh the strengths of OECs. But in a larger solitaire, or earrings, I really do like the OEC faceting a lot.

Of course an AVR would have superior optics compared to a true OEC, but I thought I should point this out anyway!

I agree with Dreamer on her comment above. I have had 4 .30 ct RBs and one about .27ct OEC (although not AVR) but similar faceting, anyways put them side by side, compare them to see what I would like more in a five stone (when I was considering five stone at the time) and hands down from afar, it was the RBs that caught my eye the most. Now if you were buying this to please yourself and the faceting details are what matters, I would probably go with AVRs but overall the RBs stood out from afar more to me than my oec.

I am a lover of OECs and when the smaller AVRs became available, I knew that this was the band for me! No regrets...

It does and Thank you! Is it me or does the AVR band look more "white" and harder to distinct the specific stones?
