Dear all,

Previously i had a reset, well, it did not turned out as what i wanted. You can view the pictures and discussion here

Hence, i would want to set it in a temperory setting first and wait around... i thought of getting something cheap, thus i was looking ebay and narrow down to 2 choices.

CHOICE 1
Cheap setting from Lord of Gem Rings. The halo and the shank looks very dainty and thin, which is what i like... but i wonder if it is safe?

CHOICE 2
Alternatively, i got a quote from jewelryhoo (another ebay vendor) to do a replica of Brian Gavin's Sara Halo

Which one do you think i should choose? I do want my other bands to sit flush and not to have a gap in between. I also worry if resetting can damage my diamond?

Sorry for the amateurish questions. THank you for your patience with me. Hope to hear comments from you all. :wavey:

I would choose a simple white gold setting as a temp setting. I can't imagine spending the money to make an inexpensive imitation of the BG halo ring. And the top one looks a little on the thin side and I'd be concerned about durability. It is pretty, though, for the money.

I agree with DS...I think you may once again be dissapointed if you try to go with an inexpensive halo. I'd go with a simple
tiff replica if this is truely a temp setting or why not put it back into your original setting until you figure out what you really
want?

I totally agree with all of you. now i kinda feel cheapstake. i was thinking that it is not really worth to get the cheap setting then again, the previous old setting was traded in for the new setting.

I was getting uncomfortable with the reset and went back to the shop to talk about getting the setting right. The shop said they could not do anything :angryfire: and offered to do another reset for a small fee. However, i do not like any of their settings and designs that they offer. I am rather sad to see what i envisioned turned out to be something else.

I have almost no funds as i have just bought two pendants, so i do not have anymore funds to consider a good and proper reset yet. At the same time, i am impatient and do not want my current setting, thus i was considering something cheap and pleasing to the eye.
