I vote for the marquise. I think the way the marquise will point to the corners of your stone will really highlight your center stone.Date: 4/23/2010 1:37:40 AM

marquise side stones (plain band)
They are both very different looks, I love both! Go with the one you like best, either will be stunning.Date: 4/23/2010 11:11:41 AM

thanks so much for replying! there is an example of a square cushion H&A with pear side stones and it is beautiful but I agree that the marquises might accentuate the squareness...I only have a 1-carat so I''m assuming we can get really small marquises, right? Going to the jeweler tomorrow to talk about setting ideas...
here is the link with the square cushion and the pears...

I was thinking the same thing too. If I didn''t know it was a squarish stone, I would have thought it was round. I personally like trillians with square stones in a setting like that.Date: 4/23/2010 1:58:23 PM

The pear 3 stone that you linked it also very lovely but if I didnt stop to stare at it for a moment I would have almost thought
it was a round stone. So...I guess it depends if you want to accentuate the squareness of your stone or not.
