Hi all, and thank you for your help yesterday! My fiance and I have decided to get a ring online rather than going to St Thomas (thank you!!!!), and I am speaking with a lady at Whiteflash so that I can pick the ring up when I go to Nevada in January (one of the reason for choosing Whiteflash is that they accept UK credit cards).

Anyway, this is most definitely the setting I want

and the lady at WHiteflash has come back with the following diamonds (Our budget is $5,000, so in theory I can afford a little bit more on the diamonds, but this is what she has come back with..) Any ideas which one I should go for? One is bigger than the other 2, but the 2 are "a cut above" whatever that means... thanks!!!

Thank you!!!

Well I can''t copy the link, but on whiteflash''s expert selection there is a G, SI1 (0.82 carat) for $2985 that I would take a closer look at. Maybe plug the numbers into the cut advisor. I personally prefer higher color over clarity, so that''s what I would do if I was on a tight budget.

Good luck!

I say go for the .77 carat A cut Above. It''s actually a tiny bit bigger visually than the .78 since it''s not as deep. And the ACA diamonds are literally a cut above other diamonds in the quality of their cut. Cut quality == Sparkly!
Not that I have an ACA, but I still love how other women ooh and aah over how sparkly my .57c diamond is!

Well, the J's definitely bigger, and I doubt you could tell the difference in the sparkle factor between it and an ACA. If the color doesn't bother you, I'd go with that one. (providing it's eyeclean)

It''s really subject to personal preference since any of these ideal cut stones would be lovely! But for me, my preferred color cut-off is H, but I might go to I if it was a high I. I''d be deciding between the .70 G VS1 and the .77 I SI1. What would be ideal to me is something in between those. There are two H VS ACA stones in the .70 range.
