Which one of these diamonds should i buy?

The diamond looks really good but it is kind of out of my price range. I want to spend less than 4.5K for the diamond. I would refer to spent the money on charity instead on diamond. Do you know any diamond in mind which cost less than 4.5K?

Thanks

Is this stone out of your price range? I realize it is a G instead of an H but I like the specs and pics of it much better!

Well, that stone eclipses your budget by $300 for GOG wire price.

Taking a look around at in-house stones with excellent cut, I'm not coming up with anything in an H color over .90 for 4500.00.

If I were you, I would call some of the vendors and tell them your parameters for a stone. They might have some things to suggest or they can see about calling in some stones that meet your criteria. Stones are out there - you just need someone to source them for you. Even if you drop down in color and/or clarity, make sure that cut is your top priority. You won't be sorry!

Good luck to you and let us know what you find. If there's any way you can stretch your budget, consider the stone from GOG. It would make a beautiful ring. While I appreciate your desire to give to charity, maybe just this once you can splurge and have a diamond to keep for a lifetime and then get on with donating! I admire your intent though - tres admirable!!

Thank you for your help. I thought the above diamonds are well cut. The HCA for the above diamonds are 1.2, 1.6, 1.8 and 2.3. Am i missing something here? I am willing to go lower toI color or SI1 cut and/or lower carat weight. Please let me know if you find any interesting stone. Your opion is appreciate.

Thanks,

I would lower your clarity specs a bit to an eye clean SI1 to stretch your budget a bit further. ;)

Any recommend? :) The ring setting will cost me an additional 1K. My budget is stretching further and further. :) I hope i dont have to beg my gf to shop at Walmart for the rest of her life after marriage. :)

As for the money, you're the only one that knows how far you can stretch and while I ask if you can, I would never advocate you spending more money than you are comfortable with or can afford. Diamonds are not necessities and certainly not worth going to the poor house over!

I would call James Allen to discuss the diamonds you are considering. From the images, they didn't all look like they would be eyeclean but you never know for sure unless you have someone else look at them. JA is an excellent vendor - give them a call and discuss those particular stones.

A representative from JA did told me that these diamonds are VS2 clarity which should be eye-clean. BTW, i was kidding about stretching budget.

Oh, good - I didn't want you to think that I was trying to push you into spending money you weren't comfortable doing!

VS stones can certainly be eyeclean but not all are. Do they have those stones on their premises to be able to give you a first hand opinion on eye cleanliness?

Do you know any good diamond around 0.8 carat from JA which is under 4K dollar?

No, but again I would give them a call to see what they have in stock or can order in for you. Depends on what color/clarity you want to go with too.

I likes the diamond from GOG the most but i decided to buy the diamond from JA. GOG's store will be close tomorrow, Monday and Friday which mean that I may not have the diamond by next week. I will fly back to Asia next week so GOG is not an option for me. So i have to stick with JA. I talked to the gemologist from JA. He recommended me to chose fluorescence diamond(http://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/H-VS2-Ideal-Cut-Round-Diamond-1290105.asp). He told me this diamond is "eye clean". So i decided to bought this diamond.

Diamond from BGD looks good but i didn't think about this diamond too much since i already bought the diamond from JA.

Thanks everyone for helping me out.

PS: I attached the IdealScope image of the diamond in this post. I know i didnt make the best decision but i hope this is not a very bad one.

Definitely not a bad choice - it looks very nice, congratulations!

GIA lowered cut grade to VG because of the high crown, but when GIA grades cut they have a set of proportions for each cut grade and if a diamond's eight rounded, averaged values for a particular facet(s) type fall into that cut grade, that is the grade the diamond gets. 36 is outside GIA's EX range for "crown". However GIA, unlike AGS' light performance report, does not consider how the many facets in the diamond work together - a 40.6 pavilion may result in obstruction in combination with a 33 crown but be a v nice complement to a 36 crown as in this stone - IS is picture perfect, and pic looks v nice :sun:
