Please help me select one that would be better. Looking to for something around 1.8ct. My budget is around 15-17k. I had no luck w/ a few dealers I'm working with in nyc so i'm looking into buying online. I dont' mind the inclusion too much as long as it's "eye clean". Thank you all for any comments & suggestions.

No way could I consider SI2 stones that did not have pictures supplied and preferably someone to hold the stone and discuss the visibility of inclusions. I'd recommend WhiteFlash, Good Old Gold, James Allen, and Brian Gavin, all of whom provide pictures, idealscope images, and can discuss the inclusions with you.

It's late here but I'll take a look.

The H stone's cut isn't great. It scored a 3.9 on the Holloway Cut Advisor, https://www.pricescope.com/tools/hca , and we generally recommend staying under 2.5 or so to rule out less well cut stones. Once potential stones are chosen, we'd ask James Allen for idealscope images (they will provide 3).

One F SI2 has no pictures, so it is impossible to comment, and the other one seems to have very visible inclusions and is cut similarly to the H stone. So I am afraid I wouldn't consider any of these. Good SI2 stones are not easy to find. Not all SI1 stones are even eyeclean. But I'd suggest sticking with SI1.

Nice if eyeclean:

The search goes on. Thank you!

I got a quote for 15,500 for a 1.8ct f si2 (GIA) xxx stone.

table is 59%
depth is 60.7
crown angle is 33
and pavillion is 41.2%
no cutlet.

hca score is a 2.3

I saw the stone and it appears eye clean. Do you think the price is right?

I am not particularly fond of a large table and low crown angle, so I would prefer the one from Good Old Gold.

Thanks for your response. I will go back to my guy. He has another one he's trying to get which is 57% table and 62% depth, 35 crown, 40.8 pavillion. This is also an si2. Should I stay w/ this config?

Just to clarify, the crown & pavillion is in degree, not %. My mistake for the confusion.

sorry to bump the thread. i've been reading about hca and wondering why the last specs i post is not as desireable, with a hca score of 2.3.
