Why such a limited choice? The cut on the H is worse, as evidenced by the HCA above 2. I’m with @dk168 and would look for G/H VS2 to get a bigger stone.
For me this is a very easy choice. I’d go with the 1.75. This is going to be a firey diamond with a good balance of brilliance.
The 2 carat is a 60/60 diamond. It will have a lot of brilliance but little fire (colorful flashes). it has a very low crown height of 12.5. That is LOW...it’s going to have a flat top look.
Here is a size comparison on the hand of both diamonds...The profile look isn’t accurate as the 2 ct. will have a lower flatter crown.
I’ll preface by saying I’m a size ho so I would always prefer the bigger one. I also quite like the 60-60 bright and spready style (which can still have fire ofc, but maybe less than the small table slightly higher depth style) more than the fiery super ideal style, so the H VVS is up my alley. So that’s the one I’d choose! I think there will be an appreciable difference in size and the H gets you to the 2ct mark. Using the search tool on PS the price seems reasonably fair for the H VVS2 (didn’t check the D). Have you seen the stones in person? Which do you like better?
Above all, you should determine what is most important for the wearer - size, bright light return, fire, color etc. and make sure to prioritise along those lines. Some people will want the D color at the expense of size, some will want the spread at the expense of fire etc. You can expand your search online if you’re comfortable to see if you find something even better. Good luck!
Why not compromise and look for a 1.9+ ct G?? There is quite a noticeable difference in size in those two stones. The D has a better cut, but I'd want to see the H perform in person compared directly with the D. If you can't tell a difference, then you have your answer. If you can tell a difference and prefer one over the other, then you have your answer.
they both look like very solid choices. Both great clarity. it depends on what's most important to you. everything else being equal/comparable, color or size???
also another thing to consider: is it for a pendant is it for a ring??
Personally, if it were me i'd probably go with the d color for this type of diamond, the mrb.
Does this vendor have an upgrade policy?? can you trade up later on in the future??
