CharmyPoo every single one of your posts are SO informative. I even went back and read some of your other postings, and I learned something new each and every single time. Thank you again, don't ever stop posting here!

Aww.. thanks sweetie. I try to be helpful!

This makes sense. My cousin is also getting married and she's been looking at Leon. BTW, when you made the switch over from Maytal to Leon what specifications did you change and focus on in order to get what you really wanted? I am just trying to focus on the details that I might be missing.

I actually didn't change anything - I always knew what I wantd and didn't change that. The difference is that what Leon ususally makes is aligned with what I want - really delicate, thin shank, great curves, diamond set as low as possible. It was very easy for him to execute what I wanted because that is what he does. With Maytal, it took some time before she learnt that I want what I want and I am really picky - she is used to building rings that aren't super duper dainty. She would have no problems with 2.0 mm but I wanted 1.5 mm in which the splits are less than 1mm - she just doesn't make rings that dainty. I am also very picky with curves and having the metal curve to the lines of the diamond and hands. Many jewellers just can't do it .. they do straight lines well though.

And with that post you just convinced my cousin (she's wants three stones) to call Leon tomorrow... which was followed up by my fiance (who has also been reading this thread) to pipe up and say that we must go back to Leon now  oy vey. I wonder if I can just get my boy to deal with so that I don't have to deal with it. I'm half middle eastern and half brazilian... so I have a hot temper ;)

We already spent almost 4 months just finding the diamond, and now this. I just want it to be over now because I am second guessing everything.

BTW have you posted pix of your ring yet? I want to see!! BTW, earlier today while I was searching and looking at your old posts I came across the one you made about you wedding dress. My cousin who is also reading this (and I'm trying to get her to register) just ordered two of her gowns from some vendor in China. I have no idea, because she's also planning on ordering another one here and she wants to know which vendor you used or if you have any recommendations because she's worried about the quality of the material.

BTW, speaking of me stalking your old posts :) any updates on your wedding planner? I have not hired one yet but am thinking of hiring one for the last few months and of course a little team for the day of.

Best of luck with Leon. He really isn't as bad as you think! With a large center stone like yours .. he will have fun! You will be over $4000 for sure but in my opinion .. if your budget is flexible .. why not? I always want the best :P

China wedding gowns is a thumb downs for me. I ended up buying 3 wedding gowns but I am going to be wearing the Vera Wang Diana for my wedding. I made 3 gowns in China - one wedding gown (really bad) and two evening gowns. One turned out gorgeous and the other one .. hasn't arrived yet. I am trying out another seamstress for a third gown (my local seamstress told me she saw a few gowns from this one and was shocked at how good they were). I will let you know once I get everything.

Wedding planner - still sucks but she is trying. If I had to do it again, I would only hire the day of. She really was no help at all.

This is my Leon e-ring .. bad pictures .. ignore my dry hands

Handshot - Not sure why it isn't showing up
