ok so i bought a ritani halo plain platinum setting which has H color VS2 melle in the halo, now i have the first stone paid for but after comparing the two idealscope, aset, arrow and heart images it seemed to me the 2nd stone looked a bit more precise?. now size doesnt bother me as there is only .2 of a mm difference however the color being a H for the first stone and a I for the second is what has me worried because i dont want the melle of the halo to be showing the color of the I. you with me so far? lol ok now the first is a VS2 and 2nd a SI1 eyeclean (apparently) which also isn't a huge concern as long as i cant overly notice the inclusions. honestly i just want the most sparkle/fire/scintillation that doesnt compromise the halo. price difference is approximately $500 difference with the first the cheaper of the two. based on everything above should i stick to the stone i have paid for already or pony up and pay the extra for the 2nd stone? all the specs are below

Have they already ordered your setting? If so, they may already be making it to go with the first diamond. All ACA stones have excellent cut, so you are not going to justify getting the other stone because of that. It would only be if you want to go larger, and that is a tough choice. I really like H VS2 and personally would not go to I SI1.

Yeh setting has already been ordered. I was under the impression they fit it afterwards not having it made to a particular size first. Although this is my first ring purchase so that's something new i learnt lol. So in all honesty if im happy with the size just stick with it for the better color and clarity? Thanks for your input, i think i have a tendency to over think things and its good to get opinions from people from another angle if you know what i mean.

THat is what the forum is for! We all need help making these kinds of decisions! But you have already chosen an outstanding diamond. There are people who would go for lower color and clarity to get a larger stone, but I think H VS2 is such a great choice! My e-ring stone is I VS1 and I would have preferred H had they had one the right size.

With many ring designers, the stone is sent to the ring designer and the ring is made for the particular diamond and in your size. You'd have to ask WF about Ritani, but my recollection is that Ritani sets your stone.

Quick question I've noticed the stone I bought has a darker red color in the arrow picture (the first stone and second picture) compared to others I've looked at since, why is that and is it bad to have that, I've looked as much as I can and came across something called painted girdle and ring of death? Thanks

I would go for the H VS2 everytime, purely for a clarity mind-clean perspective.

0.9 and 1.0 look so similar anyway (to me anyway)

My personal preference out of those two would be the first - those inclusions on the table would draw my eye every time I looked at the second!

I would go with the H VS2 as well. I would worry about being able to see the inclusions in the Si diamond under the table in certain light.

You are definitely overanalyzing the photos! Neither diamond has a painted girdle and neither has a ring of death! They couldn't qualify as ACA if they did! I will tell you again that the images on the original stone are perfection. You are not going to find anything wrong with them.

Your only decision is a preference for color and clarity and size.
