The comments of the gemologist were that all are very similar in brilliance, brightness and fire also in the white of the H color. All face eye clean.
Prices of the 0.8 and 0.9 are the same . The 1 ct is $1360 more.

My concerns of each diamond are:
the size of the 0.8 (smaller) with a tiny table
the clouds of the 0.9
1ct - the side inclusion and extra price of the 1ct… is it worth?
My setting will be a double hallo.

Please help!!!!

I'd say options 1 and 3 are your best options looking at the ideal scope. The .8 carat H IF also has a 52.9% table, which should make it pretty fiery. The 34 and 40.9 Crown and pavillion angles complement each other nicely, and you can see that in the IS with very little leakage.

The 1 ct. is also a very viable option - very good optical symmetry and light return based on the IS. I personally would go for this option since in this size range it's always nice to get more spread and if the SI1 clean to your standards, and it does look pretty clean - it will look exactly the same as an IF without the extra cost, but extra size!

thanks, the 1ct is 1360 more! the other 2 cost the same!

Turial,

Given cut, clarity and color parameters which are similar you will always see a price jump at the 1ct level. Another jump happens at 1.5 and 2.0. There is just, in the reality of consumerism, a premium put on a diamond that can achieve the > 1.0 carat level. In fact, it’s why there are an abundance of poorly or average-cut diamonds hovering at “magic weights” like 1.00ct. Many diamonds at 1.00 carat and just above would have fallen below a carat if they improved them, so the producer “settled” for a less beautiful diamond – in terms of performance – in order to yield that more-valuable carat-mark. The nice thing is that you’re here on PriceScope. The community is vigilant about good performance and the importance of images like idealscope, which is helping you stay away from 1.00ct diamonds that would have looked nicer somewhere UNDER a carat.

If you do not care to have a > 1.0 ct. diamond, then it may not be worth paying the premium that will attach itself to the extra .1 carats.

But many people believe, for the sake of having a full carat, it is worth it.

Sounds like they perform the same. I'd eliminate the H IF based on smallest size, and I don't think it's worth it to get IF unless you really value top clarity.

The question then, is 0.2 mm diameter and the magical 1.00 ct mark worth $1,360? That depends on your budget.

0.91 (6.2mm) on left. 1.00 ct (6.4mm) on right. Ring size 6, right width 2.5mm

Thank you all for the answers. Any more thoughts about the 3 diamonds?

:wavey: Does it have to be one of these 3?
If I were you I would post my budget range and have folks here suggest stones.
Since you are picking from FL to SI1 you don't sound clear on your criteria - it might be wise to keep looking for a while.

Thanks for the suggestion!
My budget for the diamond is 5000 for a 0.9 aprox.
I was not looking for an IF, but found this one and thought it was nice.
I am happy with an H color minimum. Can be any up the scale too..
and can go down to Si1 if its very clean.
I've been looking for a long time and I am not convinced with what I find...
Ay suggestion is welcome!

Hi Turial,

All three diamonds have potential certainly if the clouds on the latter two do check out as not causing visual issues. I must admit, I am partial to the IF with the smaller table, but if you aren't convinced with any of those three, we can certainly take a look to see what else is out there.

Here we go, this one is SI2 but as Jon if it is eye clean to your specifications if interested. $4385.00

The stone below might be well worth requesting the report info as it isn't uploaded, an E colour with strong fluorescence ( we would just need to make sure it's blue), it's an E colour and just under 5k with bank wire. Just make sure the wearer would be ok with the strong blue fluorescence.
