I am so confused about this. So I will ask you guys. Which diamond will look visually bigger on my hand?

Item Number: 1054183
Shape: Round
Carat weight: 0.87
Cut: Ideal
Color: H
Clarity: SI2
Certificate: GIA

Depth: 61.9%
Table: 55%
Polish: Very Good
Symmetry: Very Good
Girdle: Thin to medium
Culet: None
Fluorescence: Medium
Measurements: 6.13*6.14*3.80

OR

Item Number: 1049837
Shape: Round
Carat weight: 0.85
Cut: Premium
Color: H
Clarity: SI1
Certificate: GIA

Depth: 58.8%
Table: 60%
Polish: Good
Symmetry: Very Good
Girdle: Medium
Culet: None
Fluorescence: None
Measurements: 6.19*6.23*3.65

I would think its the second one according to the measurements but I might be wrong. You see I''m from Canada and I won''t be able to see the actual diamond so I will be going by stats...These are prob not the diamonds that I will be picking but I just wanted to use them as an example.

THanks

I think they will look the same size. We''re talking about fractions of millimeters here...that''s not enough to make a visual difference. I''d probably go with the first one if it''s eye-clean, since it''s listed as ideal rather than premium cut. But it also depends on whether you like fluorescence (the first has medium, the second none).

The measurements are so close that the actual diameter difference won''t be noticable to the naked eye. Cut and performance is going to make the difference in this case I would say. Do you have crown/pavilion angles and/or ideal scope images of these stones?

Varshini,

All things being equal, yes, #2.

But is bigger all you care about?

Review this page in the turorial, the focus of impact on cut in this site, and note that, depending on the particulars of the stone (usually helpfully identified with crown & pavilion angles), #1 may seem much more likely to be a winner...and btw, appear bigger to boot, based on it being better cut, too!

Can you get this additional info...?

Ditto Ira, also as he suggests, the crown and pavillion angles would be very useful.
