Which custom jeweler for handcrafted WG simple solitaire?

Some of you have followed my ongoing search for an anniversary upgrade to a GOG AV cushion. I want a simple, 18k white gold (not plated) solitaire similar to BostonJeff's (maybe a platinum head?). I know everyone loves their platinum but I don't care for the way it patinas. I would also like two small eternities, shared prong or bead set style, about 1 carat each. I'd like to have them created by the same jeweler to make sure the eternities fit around the solitaire.

It doesn't seem like a complex project but I am particular about the prongs. I want delicate and hand crafted. I don't think that Leon is a good fit for me (he's been grumpy in the past about GOG AVs and I think I don't think he would be keen on WG) and I'm not sure who to go to next. It seems that the other well-regarded hand crafters are Mark Morrell, Maytal Hannah and Ocean Pearlman. The first two usually work in platinum-I'm not sure about Ocean Pearlman. Does anyone know if they will do white gold?

Any others that I am missing? Are there other vendors who do delicate prongs? Maybe Singlestone or JBEG?

JBEG and Singlestone both do really dainty claw prongs. I've seen both of their gorgeous pieces of art in person.

Any of those that you mention will probably do well for you. I do know that Ocean will be happy to work with you in white gold.

Re: Which custom jeweler for handcrafted WG simple solitaire

Hi gayletmom, out of your list:

LM & MWM - only platinum.
Maytal Hannah & Ocean Pearlman - should be fine to do WG.
Singlestone & 23rd Street jewellers - should be fine, although prices can be a little higher, just compare.
JBeG - will be fine to do WG, although I understand work is cast, not hand made.

I just wanted to say, when you start contacting vendors for quotes, be sure of what you want when you say handmade - for example, JbEG CAD/cast their rings and handfinish them, and the prongs and rings in general are all very delicate and look nicely made.
Gypsy recently said that her ring from Ocean had a cast shank and a handmade halo.

So, if you want 100% handforged from start to finish, just be sure to ask that question. If you don't mind as long as the prongs are delicate, than you need not ask ::)

I have also seen a number of people have good results with Daniel M of Etsy.

Not so. Mark might be willing to do a WG piece.

Victor Canera did my tenth anniversary upgrade. I know he strictly hand fabricates his pieces. You could give him a shot if you'd like. You won't be disappointed in the quality.

Thanks to all of you for your recommendations and tips. That's exactly the info I was looking for-someone who had seen JBEG & Singlestone work, affirmation that Ocean Pearlman does WG, handmade prongs vs. shank and a couple of new names. Don't know what I would do without the knowledge base on PS! Much appreciated.
