I usually start at James Allen. You have to look at a lot of pears to find a "nice" pear.
Get help from PSers. Let them know your specs and budget. That will help you track down
one quicker.
Budget of $5000. I prefer a longer length vs a fat pear. Color no lower than I, clarity no lower than SI2. Not sure if a 1.50 is doable in that price, cool or clarity.
I would deal with a dealer in NY and have them start pulling them in and guide and help you.
There are a few different ones that PSers have worked with.
Full disclosure: I worked for one of them for a while.
Not finding much. I'd be curious about this one. Same stone at 2 sites. You know that pears with the same carat weight can vary greatly in LxW so pay
more attention to LxW. I hope you also know that you cant be picky with pears like you can with rounds. The faceting pattern/light return takes fairly high
precedence IMO (vs numbers and details on the GIA report). I usually try to stick with H and above because the tips tend to show a little more color but it really depends on each stone. Asets for pears are usually just plain ugly. That's why its nice to see videos that show how the stone acts as it moves.
You might see if DBL can bring this one in for you and take pictures/video.
