Where to find a jeweler to add a halo to my current E-ring

I am thinking of adding a halo around my e-ring. My hubby and I have been married almost 5 years and instead of an upgrade we were thinking a halo would be better. I love my ring and don't want to replace it but I love love the look of the halos and would prefer to add to my ring rather than upgrade. My center diamond is set in a Tacori setting. Can a halo be put around it? Any suggestions on where to go to have this done? Any suggestions are welcome.
Thanks
P.S Attached is a picture of my ring

I think you should probably request the mods to move this to rockytalk as you will get more answers there.

As far as my 2cents I ADORE you ring. It is gorgeous and I think adding a halo would be a bad idea. This ring was definitely not meant for that- i think it would just be way too much going on. However if you are stuck on a halo I really think you have two options. You can either add a ring guard or remake the ring. I'm pretty sure you can't just add a halo, especially to this design.

Happy 5 years!

Could you maybe contact Tacori proper? I'd imagine they'd be the best suited to modify their own design ....

I doubt that the jeweller can just tack on a halo to it; it has to be remade.

Wasn't there someone who added a halo to their setting a few months ago?

I'm thinking a *good* jeweler could - you'd want somebody who could design a halo that would fit coherently with an already complex design, and you'd want somebody who could do laser welding. But especially with those high prongs? Yeah, it could be done.

Yes, I think this is it:

In the example posted, the halo has a strong support structure underneath. In the OP's case, there is nothing but the prongs alone which I'm not sure will be strong enough.

Honestly I don't think it would work all that well, sorry.

Your ring is beautiful though!

I think the prongs would be strong enough - when you look at the struts most of our PS jewelers use, they're actually somewhat more fragile, because they tend to be covered in pave.

The design issue is a tougher question. I think a simple round halo might look out of place. But something like the four pointed or eight pointed halos we've been seeing out of Bulgari or the like? That could go nicely with the opulent design of the ring. Example below:

You're Sherlock Holmes! I kept searching and searching, and I couldn't pull it up! :knockout: I only found a few old threads where people reset their stones completely, lol!

OP: I really do love your setting, and think the only alteration I'd do to it is to shorten the prongs so that the stone doesn't sit up so high. I'd be nervous of an added halo blocking those lovely geometric corners!

Re: Where to find a jeweler to add a halo to my current E-ri

I would agree with Madeleise, just shorten the prongs on your existing ring - that would be the only modification I would feel comfortable with on that setting. It is a BEAUTIFUL setting as is and I think a halo added to it, would just be WAY too many design elements that would not flow. I think you could regret that addition.

are you looking for bling or a change or finger coverage?? what is the motivation behind the halo?? Maybe narrowing down why you are craving the halo is the first step. Maybe instead of an upgrade, just purchase a halo ring as a RHR? Then you get to keep the ring you love + get a lovely anniversary gift!!

That's totally what I would do --- but I have zero self control when it comes to new diamonds and its sooooooo much easier to spend OP's money than my own!!! :wink2:
