I have fallen in love with my dream setting at a jewelry store in my area. Platinum, cathedral pavé setting. I''m very picky I''ve seen other similar settings that I don''t love like this one. As soon as I first saw it, I knew immediately that it would be my setting. Not to mention, it''s not a designer setting, so it''s priced at a great value.

My dilemma is that we most likely would not purchase the stone at the same jeweler because their prices are much higher than either ERD or Ross-Simons. So where should we have the stone set? If we buy the stone online? or if buy the stone at a local brick and mortar store? Should we bring the setting to the stone? or the stone to the settng?

Thanks for all your help!

I''d have the vendor you buy the stone from be the one to set it. they will not usually charge a setting fee and many times will take responsibilty for the stone in case something happens to damage it while it''s being set.

Ditto! And don''t buy a setting until you know the exact dimensions of the stone you buy.
