So far the best I found was James Allen at about 730

That sounds like a good price.

Bluenile has it for $980 in 14kt gold

Brilliant Earth has it for $1175 but they only have 18kt gold (and it has a surprise diamond)

Yeah I've seen those the pic is from the BN link. Maybe BN will be cheaper sense sense they are a drop shipped with their diamonds.

I wonder if stuller makes one

I will bet you good money that if you brought in the rings mentioned that you would find substantial differences in the execution of each of them.

When you ask for the cheapest, you will most often get what you pay for. When you are holding valuable diamonds, is the cheapest really what you want?

Wouldn't a better question be, "Where can I get the best VALUE for a ring that looks basically like this?"

Wink

P.S. This is not a comment on the vendors or the actual rings that were proposed, just my opinion on looking for the cheapest.

I would ask IDJ for a quote - and they do some nice claw prongs too (always a bonus for me!)!

Yes I am aware cheapest isn't always better, however, what I wanted was all my options so I can make an informed decision. I can make that decision if its not good quality, but I can't make that decision if I can't find the setting . Just wanted all the options

Awesome. I know you are a pretty savvy shopper.

It would appear they do make a version of that setting:
http://www.stuller.com/products/build/71604/?groupId=118241#/center-stone
As of August 2014 and based on gold at $1450/oz, Stuller's suggested retail price was $475 for a 14k white gold, semi-mount for a 8mm X 6mm oval center stone, with six 3 pointers (Stuller's "Precision Melee") as the accent stones. Can't seem to grab the price for same mounting sans Stuller's melee, sorry.

Thanks so much. So one should hope it comes back around 500? If I ask vendors? I wish I could see a real photo of it

Some back story. As I like to do I am helping a friends BF shop for her. She has a size 8.5-9 finger and is concerned the diamond will be lost on her finger. With this, however, she doesn't want a soli to maximize $$ Toward the stone. So, he's trying to get as large a diamond he can for his relatively modest 4k. At BN I've found a 6/2mm 90 pointer and that setting for 4033, but I'm trying to see there's any place that can do better as he is very concerned about the size of the stone.

I would phone up IDJ for a quote, reference the stuller setting and email a link to the blue Nile setting. Give the budget limits. I like to do a market survey for all my projects
