Thanks again everyone for the replies!
So today was our first day of school and I kept tearing up because I just miss home (my school, friends/coworkers, etc) so much. I hope to develop relationships like those I''ve had at home but I know it will take time. Everyone we''ve met here is great and it''s so nice to get together with a few PSers occasionally. They''ve definitely helped make the transition nice.
I can''t help but compare everything to home though. I have to watch myself carefully so I don''t keep saying, "well at my old school we..." when comparing how things are done. Apparently my husband is concerned now because he feels guilty or "dragging" me down here. He needed a job so we moved -- otherwise, we''d still be living in NE. I''m trying to focus more on being happy and going with the flow. There are certainly worse things one can go through, and being homesick isn''t a huge deal, in the grand scheme of things.
Thanks for listening to me vent!
PP -- yeah, I''m definitely the homesick type. My sister, on the other hand, is a different story. She graduated college and moved across the country -- been there for 9 years now. I couldn''t get myself to even think of moving until my husband lost his job and had to extend his search. I guess I''m not the adventurous type.
Paz -- I really believe there''s something special about NE.
NEL -- I hope you enjoyed your trip to SC!
Thanks CurlySue and Fisher! I appreciate your thoughts and recommendations.
April -- that''s it! I feel like I''m biding my time here.
Thanks Italia! I appreciate the hug!
