I hoped the pix would be up by now, but maybe admin. is very busy today. Maybe later......

another, the rest are too blurry

ACK!! I SO wish there was a "whole hand" shot so we could see this "too small" thing she keeps focusing on!!!

From these pix it looks like a MONSTER, so, hum, I can''t relate to the dilemma.

I haven''t kept up entirely, but I know this has been going on a bit, and size was a concern. I''m not a size gal, so if that''s it, I don''t get it either. I mean, it spreads across the entire finger, and takes up a nice space vertically. What more could you want? And where would you put it? lol

LMAO!!! EXACTLY. Any bigger and those traps would be like SPARKLY SADDLEBAGS! Even here on Pricescope - DSS central - some cases of "not big enough" leave me scratching my noggin! When does DSS become DDS (Diamond Dismorphic Disorder)? I''m sure there are folks here who CAN relate though ... bring em on!

THAT RING + motivated seller with negotiatable price = an absolutely done deal, to me.

It is gorgeous. Sooooo gorgeous. I''m glad you could see it in person to make this decision, because while it is easy for ME to see the answer, I''m not you.

But.....Jump at it, isaku!

If that''s not big enough, then I''m scared to think of what "big" is really supposed to mean! And I AM a size girl!

Isabel, it''s beautiful, white, LARGE, spans your finger across AND vertically, and it''s the best bargain that you will ever find on a 3c asscher. And the traps next to it are just stunning. If I were in your shoes, I''d snap it up and wear it with joy. And you''ll always have the option of popping out the center stone and doing whatever you like with it in the future. Your call....but only if you can do it with conviction!

Thanks so much for posting the pics, PS admin

i agree, the pictures make the ring look huge and there is enough finger spannage, not getting the too small thing either really!!! that asscher and the whole ring is just lovely. someone is going to be a lucky gal!

We had a very limited timeline to take pix of the asscher as we were held up in line at the border for an hour and a half, so arrived for our 3pm appointment at 4:40.

DH attempted a few pix, but we realized after the fact that there were no whole hand shots among them.

These were photos taken on my left hand; it wouldn''t fit on the right where it''s supposed to be going. I knew that it wouldn''t fit on the rh finger before I got there, but was surprised that a size 6 actually fit easily on the left.

I''d love to see a pic too. i agree that the price for the 3 ct. is a deal and if you love the ring, I''d do it. But, just wanted to know if you''d seen this little Leon number? I vaguely recall you saying you didn''t want to work with Leon, but the man does seem to know what he''s doing
2.gif
..maybe a future reset for your 3 ct??
I''d love to work with leon myself - does he ONLY work in platinum? I associate him with plat, halos, and pave, and I don''t want any of those three things lol But his framing, his basic design is closest to what I want.

Many thanks to wallermama for finding this ring in the first place. I was hesitant to even go and see it because of the pictures sent earlier from the jeweller who made the ring and the appraiser who thought it looked more like an H than a G colour.

Diamondseeker suggested eye-balling of the ring before deciding and what a wise decision that was; otherwise, I would have second -guessed myself out of seeing what I now consider" the definitive asscher". It is so much more brilliant than the RA''s I had seen in the spring and made me a definite convert to asschers- absolutely mesmerizing!!!

I really appreciate everyone''s input on this ring and while it didn''t scream at me " BUY ME YOU FOOL", I would have loved to "visit" with it a little longer and had DH take more pix.

"My name is Isabel and I''m addicted to asschers."

is it the traps? because the center diamond is huge! because if you''re getting a really good deal you can always reset the center stone... maybe keep it as is until such a time you can upgrade the setting to the one you really love with the halo.

Don''t worry... I feel no pressure to make you hurry but sometimes it''s nice too bounce things off of other people...

I attempted a new avatar with PS re-sized pics, but the ring looks "squished". Any pointers on how to correct that?
34.gif

So what do you feel needs to happen before you can decide? Do you still have doubts?

For you to use it as your avatar pic, makes me think you really do love this ring.

Yes... you need to have the size under 100x100 and if you keep it square the proportions will be square... here I did it for you :)

just right click this, save it, and upload it :)

Minimal doubts at this point....But I need to ask Jonathan, the Patron Saint of all saints to refund my money. Right now he is in CA attending a diamond symposium, so I''ll have to wait to receive the word from him before I go any further.

Isabel, BUY THAT SUCKER!!!!!!!!! I was floored when I saw these pics. Just awesome. I''m proud of you for going to see it in person!!!!!

Wow, what a ring! I''ve forgotten what the asking price was...$30 something thousand? Somebody here needs to have that ring, Isabel, either you or one of US!!!

Thanks, lizz. Getting DH to make that drive and come back the same day to see a ring was a herculean effort in itself.; the five hour return trip morphed into closer to seven. The only reason we didn''t stay over was that our granddaughter was coming on Friday. When we got home there was a message on our machine saying that her mom had made other plans for her that day. Oh well...

Yes, DS, a mere 30 something thousand dollars. Yikes!!!! Actually that''s about the same price as the 2.26 with the ill-fated baguette halo
20.gif

Oh my, OH MY!!! At that price you MUST buy that ring, Isaku! Even if you end up hating the setting (which I personally couldn''t imagine), the current-day market cost of that 3c stone alone is WAY more than what he''s charging for the whole ring!

It would be the PriceScope deal of the year!!!

Hi Isaku,

Just reading up here a bit while at Symposium. Call our office on Tuesday and speak with Tim or Christen and we will happily refund your money. I''m glad you found what you like.

I SOO wish I had $30k laying around for a ring like this!!!!

Hey BayArea gals, if Isabel passes on it, want to each put in like $1000 and share it? We only need 30 gals. LOL!
