What year do you think?

This black glass bead necklace is beaded on a chain, never seen this befor. With round box clasp. Any thoughts on year or decade? Thanks!

I would say 1930s-50s.
Based on the clasp, I don't think it's any older than that.

I associate that multi-strand style with the 40’s-60’s, although there was a brief revival - I bought a 3-strand “jet” bead necklace, new, I think in the 90’s. With a caveat that this is strictly a gut-based guess... the fact that your necklace is strung on chain, coupled with the textured clasp, makes me think late 60’s.

ETA - that said, stracci knows a lot more about this stuff than I do!
