We really do need the idealscope/aset & pictures before we can give any real advice. Call them up or e-mail them, and ask to have idealscopes/aset pics of any in house diamonds that match the criteria you have. (or you can list the ones you want)

Then post em here and we can help ya out =)

Yes be very wary of thin girdles if you''re not going through an extremley trusty vender...diamond may chip easily!!
Actually thin girdles are usually fine, it is very thin you need to avoid

For some reason its not letting me upload photos of the gia reports that ive been sent but i will try and explain, first one is 1ct h vs2 5.37x5.29x4.01mm square modified brilliant, girdle m-tk, depth 75.8, table 73 cut very good and from the picture there is a spread of red and black speckles with crystal, needle and natural on the left hand side of the stone but its missed off the scanned picture so i cant determine exactley whats what maybe someone can

The second gia report is 1.01 ct f si1 5.46x5.45x3.92mm square modified brilliant, girdle stk-tk,depth 71.9, table 72 and it is classed as premium cut and on that picture the stone looks cleaner than the vs2 but has a few red and black circles in the bottom left hand corner and at the bottom has crystal, knot, feather and indented natural.

CAn anyone help of voice an opinion on what info i have please?

There''s not much I can tell you cept the #s for the F SI1 are slightly better than the other. (and the fact that it''s graded "premium" while the other is graded "very good," but this doesn''t mean that much...)

What were the polish and symmetry grades for the two stones? The crown heights?

However, since you only have 2 diamonds, it wouldn''t be much trouble to get ASETs or Idealscope pics on either them for both of them (these pictures are independent of the certificates). You can''t pick a princess without looking at those pictures! Unless you''re going to get an AGS0 princess (then they''re good enough you can trust em).

Hope that helps.

OK for the f si1 stone the polish is ex the symmetry is good and for the h vs2 stone the polish is very good and symmetry is good, my only concern is the f stone has a knot or knots, i will keep trying to upload the picture.

Fingers crossed this uploaded

The answer should depend on

1. the carat size
2. the cut type
3. the cut quality
4. the colour and type of setting
5. the persons eye sight ability for clarity and also for colour
6. the budget / size / quality trade off

Knowing the answers you can find from a survey like this is like knowing the average patient temperature in a hospital (including the dead patients).

Ive got log out and back in before uploading but that the 2 gia reports hope you can see them clearly.
