What would you like for Christmas?

This holiday, I wanted two weeks w/out any carpooling or rushing around taking care of people or their kids (and even maybe turn my phone off for a day). I had wanted to spend at least a couple days over Christmas break wearing my PJs all day, as well. I had posted already how we were told a family would be staying w/us for seven days, so my wish for peace won't happen. I probably will go to a bunch of movies to get away from having too many kids in our house and not being tended to by their parent.

As far as bling...I'm getting a pair of studs but not sure exactly when. It appears I'll have my budgeted amount before Christmas, but I still haven't found what I'm looking for at either of the vendor websites so I guess I'll call them. I bought a pair of diamond huggie hoops the other day as a pre-christmas gift. Am not sure if the size is right, so if not, I'll return them and put the $ toward just the pair of studs. I'm not even sure if I need both! Would rather have studs... sooooo, we'll see ;))

I wish I could spend the day on a tropical island away from the entire fuss. I'm very religious but Christmas is my least favorite holiday. I would come back right after new year. The holiday depresses me as I get older and think about all the family that is now gone and I miss them terribly. Unfortunately, and I'm not complaining, I am getting my wish the week before. I will raise a coconut drink on Martinique to toast all of you while I am there!

I will get this in $6 for my kid this Hanukkah from ShoppingSpout

A third baby! :)

That would be a lovely gift!

I would love to get divorced from my Ex husband. I have been separated from him for 2 1/2 years and he just won't except that it's over and do the right thing. I have tried to divorce him through the courts but did not get it granted. We have severed all ties except the legal aspect. Even sold our home and split the equity.
I finally decided that my only avenue was to set up residency in my neighboring state that has a no fault divorce law, which I have done. That meant taking on a second job, renting a place, registering to vote, getting my driver's license, etc. It's been a really big BITCH but I hope by February I will file for divorce.
Plus I have met a really great christian man but can't move forward as a "married" woman.

Please pray for me as I struggle through this torment.

Bright Ice that sounds awful - I'm sorry. I will be thinking of you and hoping all the effort and all the changes you've had to make pay off, and that in February you are free to move on!!

Circe - I have a pair of teeny tiny baby bezels (0.1ctw) and I adore them! They're so versatile. They look like little pieces of glitter on each ear - IMO in that size it looks like a very deliberate quest for 'how small can you go' :sun: mine were a Tiffany surprise from my ILs but I think they've discontinued anything smaller than 0.25ctw now, so that's not much help. DanielM did some *really* nice for the pricepoint baby bezels for me last year, maybe another vendor to try? ::)

My biggest wish for the whole holiday season is that my dad is healthy enough to enjoy his granddaughters at family get-togethers. He's having chemo treatments right now and I haven't seen him for a couple of weeks but I know he is tired and sick. My mom and dad have kind of gone overboard with gifts the past few years and in all honesty it's kind of a chore opening all those packages and cleaning up after and then hauling stuff home. That sounds AWFUL, but what I mean is I'd rather just sit around the dining room table and play games and chat and watch the kids play. Memories mean more to me than opening a bunch of stuff. I am well aware of how privileged we are, and of course I have asked my parents can we not worry about gifts anymore except for the little ones, but my dad is stubborn and if it makes him happy to see everyone receiving presents, who am I to take that away from him and my mother?
I hope your dad has improvement and is able to fully enjoy a healthy holiday season.

I am looking forward to watching my nephew actually be excited and old enough to "get" the whole present thing this year. His birthday is next week though, so I am more excited about watching him tear open what I got him, bec I know he's gonna FREAK OUT.

Le sigh... For DH to finally re-caulk the bathtub.

A holiday bonus check.

And a diamond bar bracelet from blue Nile.

What in the world? So sorry, Bright Ice. I had no idea that some states wouldn't approve a divorce based the other person refusing. That is just medieval.

Pic of the huggies??? What sizes are you looking at for the studs?

ETA: I think I just saw your thread on the huggies.

Yep, that was them. I returned them yesterday and also decided that I'll just get studs for now... It's too overwhelming just picking out matching diamonds right now! That is why I went with the quick-set RC ones...required no thought or planning and could be returned, if need be.

-Upgrade my BGD studs
-New crockpot with locking lid
-New diningware and cookware.

I love to cook for all events, and have left serving platters, and corningware all over...I need replacements!

I already got what I want for Christmas because it's a joint anniversary/Christmas/birthday gift. I got a tennis bracelet, and I love it.

HI:

Cashmere sweater....I think.

cheers--Sharon

oops, missed the stud size part. I'm looking between .70-.82 ctw. H&A or ideal cut rounds.

Yay! Did you post this in the bling forum?....I'll have to go look and see...

Hubby is having knee surgery December 20 to fix his torn ACL. so for christmas I just want him to recover well and not be in too much pain.

He thinks his mother might want to stay with us to take care of him so I'm hoping she won't stay too long. She can be very generous and loving but his family only communicates by yelling and he's always stressed around them. also his family are indian and have never done christmas. I can only imagine her complaining about the christmas tree dropping needles on the floor and calling the christmas roast bland and inedible and insisting we eat curry instead.

Really. :nono: That's ridiculous - I hope you are able to get divorced asap!

I have no idea, really! I did ask my husband to make me made-from-scratch chicken-fried steak as it's my favorite food and he's always promised to make it but never has. I was thinking a small bling gift, like earrings or a simple stock setting for one of my unset stones, or in terms of not-small things DINING CHAIRS since we desperately need them.

The real question is what I'd like for our first anniversary in April! I am thinking an eternity band, hopefully from Single Stone. It would also be my Valentine gift - we'd probably order around V-day so it will be ready by the anniversary.

The husband wants a rifle (are guns really all like 3k+ or does he just like fancy ones?), a fancy-schmancy gun safe (with jewelry compartments!), and furniture for the recently-roofed deck (you'd think getting the deck roofed right before his birthday could count for a present, but no). The rifle is the cheapest of these, lol. Why oh why couldn't I have married a man with less expensive tastes?

My mother has wanted a yellow diamond since she saw one in a museum several years ago. I am trying to convince my father to buy her either a small (20-40 point) yellow diamond pendant or a yellow diamond eternity band or five-stone. I think either of those would be nice, suit my mother's casual aesthetic and love of dainty jewelry.

Hope your husband heals quickly!

If your MIL complains about the pine needles, just point the vacuum cleaner out to her ;)

Get the gun safe, if you don't already have one. :))

A good home for every person or animal in need. That's all.

Bought my scarf recently--and its on its way to me now! A pretty camel color with a red stripe IIRC. I'll post a picture when it arrives! :appl: Merry Christmas to me :saint:

Spending some quality time w/ the family, of course.

A little something DBTY would be really nice, too!
